It’ll be a cold day in hell before we go into a game with Stevenage and aren’t looking to win it.

fair enough their recent form is good but we’ve nilled Cambridge and beaten Tranmere and Cheltenham on our travels under Trueman and Sellars. All are better teams than Stevenage.

freshen the pack if needed, and we go again. We have better footballers. Go for it.

No, our squad is not mighty poor as you describe it. It's a Div 2 squad, full of players who can do a good job in Div 2. They are not perfect; they are not always the most skilled and they are certainly inconsistent. Would we all want better? Certainly ... but this is Div 2 and we attract players who are Div 2 standard being paid Div 2 wages operating until recently within a Div 2 salary cap.

The stats however show that they are capable of being further up the league table and really should be. Under T&S this squad of Div 2 players has played 22 games at auto promotion standard - about 1.9 points per game. That's better per game than every other team in our league. I'll say it again Fordy for the hard of thinking. This squad under T&S has earned more points per game than Cambridge, Bolton, Tranmere and every other squad in Div 2. That's what the stats say. Unfortunately it's what happened in the first 16 games which is still keeping us out of the promotion positions when we only managed 13 points! The current squad is proving they are good enough with T&S in charge but just have too much to catch up.

Why is everyone so concerned about him not smiling? He hasn’t smiled from day 1 and hasn’t thrown his toys out of the pram. Let him get on with it. Maybe it’s just the way he is.

It's absolutely bizarre. People judging players by how much they smile rather than if they can put the ball in the net or not.

Only at Bradford (City for the over 50's).

I will judge them on taking a team from one demoralised and on the edge of relegation to one still in with a chance of promotion. And whatever happens they have built a base to build on for next season

I like this post. Whilst the season has not gone entirely to plan, it's great to know we potentially have, an exciting end to the season and just speaking for myself, but after lockdown 3 and a near 13 long (and some lonely) weeks, it's nice to have some positivity.

Gotta say the renaissance at City (certainly in terms of results) has helped me through these long days and going into Monday, I genuinely can't wait.

Can we go on a winning streak again? Time will tell but I'm glad we have something to aim for.

Me too. With all the restrictions blighting our lives, watching City on ifollow in the first half of the season was very depressing but since January I now look forward to each game and I know it has certainly improved my state of mind.

Absolutely agree, I think I've watched every game since T&S took over and actually can't imagine missing one, even the away games for a tenner.

It's been a great bit of routine and excitement and opportunity for analysis in a pretty bleak period.

Next season I'm hoping to attend all the home games, but I really hope they sort it so I can watch any away games I can't get to on iFollow, because I will if the opportunity is there.

They were one of the best performing teams in the league recently, so taking a point from a difficult away game was a positive for me of course I would have preferred all 3 but I don't expect your good self to agree, 6 points from Grimsby and Crawley we'll still be around the play off spot.

There was the instance in the 1st half where POC was giving OD mouth when he should have dealt with an attack but subsequently nearly made Wood make a huge error. Think Wood gave him some also.

Kiwomya has eluded to ROD mistakes a number of times in recent weeks on the commentary and I agree with him. I don’t think it’s about been made a scapegoat, it’s simply been dropped for the current stronger keeper and that is Hornby at the moment. The back 4 just look much more shaky and in less control with OD. Hornby’s communication has been highlighted as a strength a number of times and that’s just one area which contributes to him been a better fit right now.

I’d really like to see a change back for Grimsby, but doubt it will happen.

It was far from a spectacle today but Stevenage did what was expected from a side in form got straight onto the front foot and we find ourselves 1 - 0 down after 15 minutes from IMO a very soft/poor goal, yes questions should be asked of why our keeper is not getting a fist to those sort of balls, sorry he instills very little confidence in me dealing with balls into the 6 yard box.
We got back into the game against the run of play that suggests although we were under the cosh we still kept plugging away where as some teams may have gone defensive certainly until half time.
I thought we were the better of the two sides in the second half all T&S substitutes were positive and could have got us the win, but I'm not unduly unhappy with a point from one of the form teams in the league.[/QUOTE]

Poor half from us. The amount of free kicks we give away in dangerous positions is ridiculous and its not a new thing either.

Shite game, fair result. Another performance that shows we still need a busy summer.

Terrible game, no quality or understanding in the final third. Everything we do going forwards is at a snails pace which is so frustrating.

Team was wrong today. I know its hard to change a winning team but the lack of pace mixed with the laborious passing in midfield made us utterly ineffective.

Then the subs went way the other way with lots of pace but everyone playing everywhere and no one knowing who was where.

A mixture of the two from the start would probably have seen us win. In the end it was a pretty even game that neither team deserved to win really.

I thought it was a good point against a team in great form. I know there are some like Fordy who go ballistic if we don’t win every game but we finished the stronger side. 16/17 points from the last eight games will probably be good enough for the play offs. Contrary to popular belief we don’t need to win every game. Incidentally how many thought we’d be even near the play offs after McCalls disaster.
