They would be absolutely mad to sit back and defend. What little chance they have on avoiding relegation is going to be dependent on them winning games so I expect them to be at us from the off. If that results in them scoring first then like you say, it will be difficult for us to get back into the game because if they take the lead, that is when they are likely to park the bus. We need to be ready to hit them on the break from the first whistle and to press like we did against FGR. Do that well and I can see us winning comfortably but if they score first, I think we will be lucky to get a draw.

Well, they are keeping things tight - look at their last few results. This will not be an easy game.

I'm not saying it will be an easy game and I'm aware they are unbeaten in something like the last 7 or 8 games. However, keeping it tight and ending up with a draw is not going to help them avoid relegation - they could draw every game left and remain unbeaten until the end of the season but what's the point in that when it will send them down? If they play like that more fool them because they need wins if they have any hope of surviving the drop.

They will be slinging in crosses to James Hanson and with our keeper reluctant to come for them it will be a big threat,

There's very little between the teams in this division. Anyone can beat anyone on their day. Port Vale now on a 5 win run, Barrow had a good run then back to poor again. Even the top teams in this division are nothing special, both Cheltenham and Cambridge looked bang average against us. Even a form team like Stevenage looked poor on Saturday. We need 3 points against Grimsby but it wouldn't surprise me if we lost, it's that sort of division.

I could see a one nil loss with them defending stoutly if we go with the same team as the last two games and start in a similarly slow vein.

We had Vernham and Crankshaw starting for a while and I think T&S thought that was too attacking and didn't work. Now with Scales and Evans we're sort of grinding out results because we're not creating many clear cut chances but finding a way to score those we do have. I'm hoping for a more attacking line up on Saturday. Was it against Grimsby that Vernham scored from that long run?

Hard to remember its that long he did anything of note. If i was Grimsby i would look to do as has been mentioned on here and get plenty of crosses into the box. Its definitely something we struggle with and with a fit Hanson in the box anything could happen.

Six points coming up in the next two matches and hopefully 9 with a victory over Harrogate

Who would have said that 4 or 5 games ago. We've gone from solid to shaky in a few short weeks. I see this as being a tight affair with an odd goal in it. I'm not sure if Grimsby are at the point of having to win every game, so I'd imagine they'll see a point here as a good result. Change Evans for Vernham and take the game to them. With Hanson up top we shouldn't need to worry about being done for pace.

I'd say a point is useless for both sides at this stage of the season. So will probably end up a draw.

I dont think either of those guys were offering enough to keep their starting spots at the moment. I don't think they're bad players, but they just weren't coming up with the end product. I think Scales looks as good as either of them in many ways, he makes a lot of intelligent runs that I've noticed dont always get used, and from what I've seen he's a very good technical footballer.

I agree on Scales, he makes some good runs that aren't always being rewarded at the moment, his goal being a good example but sometimes the ball doesn't come. Passing wise he's a bit backward focused at the moment. With a Hosannah or Meredith type player at right back I think he would do well.

Thanks bantamdave41. After yesterday's win I think we're almost there. I reckon our promotion will be sealed on April 30th at Harrogate. You heard it here first! It's been great surprising everyone and, if we're honest, we've never been rated...under the radar and all that. On other posts on here I've often commented that I'd love for Cambridge Utd to be playing Bradford City in League One next year when people are actually allowed into grounds. Knowing my luck we'll come plummeting down from League One at the end of the 21/22 season as you get promoted up! Wishing you all the best....
