Was it hell two dropped points and we have this rubbish about crap opposition every week unbeaten in eleven 3 goals conceded says otherwise.

 

Some good stats there Den. Interesting that our form since T&S took over is auto promotion standard yet we are told by some that the squad is not good enough-they are proving they are good enough but frustratingly our poor league start will , I fear, mean we miss out on the play offs by a whisker. Hope to be proved wrong.

A good post @Dennis. I recognise you giving plaudits to T&S, which I join in. The turnaround has been exceptional since McCall left.

Yes, in the last 8 games, we have only managed around a point a game (which over the course of the season, would leave you close to the relegation zone!) but the signs are POTENTIALLY encouraging if we build in the summer. But the last 8 games has cast concerns (with the exception of FGR) not by accumulation but more notably, performance.

One for you @CambridgeSean... Since T&S took over, both Bradford and Bolton are tied in 2nd place, accumulating 42 points.... You guys 46 points in the same period. Fair play and that finishing line is getting ever so close....

 

Which Burton and Blackpool found out to their cost .

 

To be fair for me we need 3-4 quality players and think we meet our target of top 3 with ease.

 

Why??
On current form they ARE getting to the playoffs, their squad, budget, lack of history, tinpot ground, none of it matters, we really need to stop the we’ve got more fans than you nonsense.
What matters is current form, they will walk onto the pitch EXPECTING to beat us, this is a massive, massive game in terms of our season.
I’d put money on at least one of City, Orient or Stevenage will make the playoffs possibly two of the three. Of course we need to go for the win, playing for a draw is a ridiculous mindset. However I certainly would take point from this game!!

 

Didn't mention anything about amount of fans, history, budget etc. Current form means nothing when it comes to your own mindset, if anyone thinks any game in league 2 is going to be hard based on current form we might as well pack up now, the general standard in this division is poor and on the day anyone can beat anyone.

 

Obviously it's down to what we do in games, but yesterday with results going our way with other teams around us losing that also had a bearing on our league position.
Without doubt on our day we can beat anyone in this league, Stevenage are in a good run of form and at home they will be expected to bring the game to us, I cant see T& S changing much so I expect the same starting 11 with a similar bench that has the capability of changing a game used correctly so we go for all 3 points but coming back with a draw would not be a disaster IMO.

I'm guessing the reason Gibson doesn't figure for Stevenage at the moment might have something to do with the fact he doesn't play for them.

 

I think the reason he's only just reached the level he's at, is because he's limited at what he can do. If someone with a goal scoring record like his becomes available, you'd imagine a club in a higher league would take a punt. Vardy who was also late to the party, quickly rose up the leagues and continues to score on a regular basis. Rowe and City need to find what works best otherwise he'll continue to be a super sub.

 

I just think he doesn't celebrate wildly when he scores because scoring is just what he does. It's nonchalant, not sulky... as I've said before, he's the chav Berbatov

Real shame though (in a total first world way); blooming pandemic. Would have been great to see the match today.

 

Really looking forward to this, Mrs Meltham buggered off out so just watched the “we made history” DVD to get myself in the mood, trying to gauge when to get the first tin cracked open, Come on City!!
