I think most of us believe in the manager, it’s the belief in Bradford City we’re questioning. All this talk about auto promotion from the board, and they’ve done nothing to back the manager. It’s almost like they’re treating us like mugs. We’re one injury away, in every position, of being a threadbare team.

 

Saying above Adams took Cook off because he was injured which is hardly a suprise, once again trying to battle two central defenders alone.
Yes he should have put that header away but once again the lad was fighting a lost cause he needs a foil.
Very disappointing result we should have come home with at least a point their keeper being given MOTM two great save to keep Salford level, we never looked in trouble from dead ball situations yet lose 3 points to one in the dying minute.

 

We have created lots of chances in recent games the time to worry is when we aren’t creating

 

The players on the pitch should not miss easy chances that would help no? Or does Adams have to come on and score for them? If a manager sets the team up to create better and more chances than the opposition each game what else does he do, change shape and potentially create less?

 

Gilliead seems a complete luxury at the moment. A couple of eye catching mazy runs per game and absolutely no end product. 7 games, 0 goals, 0 assists. He doesn't seem to have changed much from his previous spells with us.
I'd much rather have Crankshaw wide right. He's erratic but he makes things happen.

 

I would have liked to have seen someone come on to support Cook and play up with him rather than him trying away by himself. Whatever formation that would have meant but at least an extra person at the top and more centrally than Vernam and Gilliead.

Or, if we were happy with a point then taking off one or more of Cooke/Vernam/Gilliead and bringing on more defensive players to win a point against arguably a rival for the top places.

My concern is Adams seemingly does neither. He neither pushes for a win or shores things up. He just carries on regardless!

 

The time to worry is when you know the side lacks quality to finish chances.

I don’t massively disagree with you but our recruitment hasn’t been poor IMO. Consistent attacking players don’t play in league 2. Not for very long anyway. On another day it clicks and we win comfortably today. We just have to accept that these players are going to be inconsistent. That’s why they are playing league 2 football. I’m still interested to know who people think we should have could have signed this summer?

 

These comments are more in line with what we're used to.
The perennial very early season optimism is quickly diminishing.
I said several weeks back that if we're to get out of this league it'll be via wembley.
We're currently an average mid-table side that has made a solid start.
There's plenty of time to prove me wrong and get a top three, however there's plenty to do to get it right!

 

Just seen the highlights on SKY, Cook should have buried that free header, no arguments.
Same sorry tale from the Walsall match, good football until the final third then they haven't got a clue.
Needs addressing urgently, can only be a free agent now unfortunately (no "who would you sign then" comments, that's for those who get paid to find them)

It was a worldie save. Should have scored though I agree. Salford for me also missed a sitter when their lad tried an acrobatic that just went past the post. Game of tiny margins and I hate to bang the same drum but when hasn’t league 2 been this way? It’s an absolute scrap with players who are very inconsistent.

 

I think Adams was after Stockton who opted to stay at Morecambe. A shame as the lad has carried on his good form. Overly we shouldn't be too worrried yet as crerating chances but not scoring and conceding whislt limiting the oppostion to the odd chance was the direct opposite to what Bowyer did when he was picking up points with us. And while we knew Bowyers luck would run out, so to will our bad luck, IF we can get the likes of Eisa and Angol back on the pitch to add a goal threat to Andy Cook.
