Not really, it's his opinion based on what he's seen so far. I have a different take that we actually have a shape that if added to properly will see us promoted. But that shape has to be added to with quality otherwise this will be just another forgetable season in league 2.

I wonder if the 4th official was pointing that out to Adams just before Adams got his yellow card. At least the ref was consistent with those decisions.

Should be a good match.
They should bring a good following being top 3 and hopefully a big crowd atmosphere will motivate the lads to a good win.

This league has been so mediocre for years you're never playing catch up until February/March. At this stage, anyone within 15 points or more off the play offs is still in with a good shout for promotion.

 

Agree Northern. In all of his spells with us, the lad has flattered to deceive. He rarely delivers in those important impact moments when speed of thought is required. A run is on, space has been found - and he plays it square or to the wrong player.

 

Wasnt it last season when he fed through the scunthorpe player at their place to score? Their commentary team were talking about him being L1 standard so they obviously saw something, perhaps confidence in the players themselves isnt sky high right now

 

It isn't opinion based on this season, its numbers and stat based on his last 4 or 5 seasons.

If his confidence has been poor for the last 5 year then possibly you have a point but if that really was the case you'd be swerving the signing by a mile anyway.

Your point was that he wasn’t booked because their player - when you slowed down the replay - was starting to go down/similar and there wasn’t much contact made.

The part of the laws I quoted shows you can commit fouls and indeed be booked (or indeed even sent off) without making much, if any, contact.

Threlkeld slid in, may have largely missed but still committed the foul. Given the position on the field and the force of the attempted tackle, my point is he was extremely fortunate not to be booked again.
