Finishing shot choice passing in the final third all that good stuff

No way are we fixing that on the training ground these are attributes of the players they can't finish for toffee!!!

Don't forget I said before the game there's no reason we can't win at PV the only thing that would stop us is finishing and guess what lol the same story again and again

People need to understand there is nothing knee jerk or reactive about doubting that this team will go up because it's based on the entire season we are a broken record loads of chances can beat anyone theoretically but in reality we don't beat enough teams because we're sooooo bad in front of goal

We will finish 10th I reckon and next season we go again WITH Adams please let him get the right players in because it's not a case of coaching these lot or training them it's a case of they don't have enough goals in them between them despite all of the chances we make

We are NOT going up even if it's still possible

One thing to note from today was the away following. After questioning the rather average numbers taken to Swindon, today's away support in an early kick off was excellent. And a proper bouncing away end, not regularly seen at City away days. Hats off.

In fairness, he was at Salford who are a joke of a club. He's looked class for us. His touch and movement are way above this level. He played 8 games for Manchester United's first team 7 years ago, so he's clearly got great ability. With a bit of confidence I think he could get 15-20 goals this season.

Despite all the hubris of some on here, l think it is far better to look at facts, hence the two screen shots. At the moment we are stopping a slide, but need to start moving upwards, especially with home wins. The next two fixtures are difficult, Northampton at home who are fourth, but then Tranmere away, who have slipped into a dive in form. Four points would be good.

He’s been very well managed by Clarke. Could be Tom Pope esque if he carries on.

You call that a bouncing away end :laughing::sob: mate what planet are you on?

I agree with you from the numbers standpoint, 886 for a lunchtime TV game is fairly good for mid-table league 2, but my god the game sounded like it was played behind closed doors.

From the tv there was a couple of faint “come on city, come on” chants when we had a corner but aside from after the goal that was it - dead.

Not denying the travelling numbers for a midday tv game was good, however it didn't come across like it was bouncing on TV. I presume it was the siting of the broadcasting team?

Depends what you are judging it on. If you are going back to my days as a teenager then you have a point. By todays standards it looked a good day out (I wasn't there dut to work commitments).

Some of the errors yesterday were schoolboy. You would get pelters at Monday night 5 a side for air shots like Vernam and Songoo made.

The most basic of mistakes proved costly. Instead of 1 up we go 1 down.

I’ve not seen a striker in the 6 yard box show as little awareness since Guthrie left.

Angol is our big hope if he can keep fit. A class above this level. Holds the ball, is clever back to goal and generally good First touch. Great header today. Super ball in by Foulds.

Angol was at the heart of our play before injury. Think Cooke would enjoy playing with him.

all in all played several top teams and haven’t lost. Going into this run of games after Hartlepool it looked bleak. Well it looks better today but we’ve ground to make up. Hopefully we can find a way past sides who block the pitch and come to VP for a point as ooperating on the counter has suited us recently.

Four points wouldn’t be good at all. We need 6.

Both our next two opponents lost yesterday and now is the team for Adams to show he can get a team to put winning runs together.

So you've decided we are not going up after 1/3rd of the season and a Transfer Window to come?. Shame on you and your defeatist attitude.

All Clubs at our level suffer if they have injuries simply because they don't carry large squads of top class players, they can't afford it. Yesterday Vale were missing their top scorer and Wilson went off "injured again" as it was put to me. Hopefully, Cook apart, we have had our spell of injury and have a different mood about us, especially the way we threw bodies on the line to defend around half time. Yes the goal was a bad one to concede but 20 seconds earlier we should have scored and I believe we would have gone on to win.

Contrast this approach and some of the good stuff we play, together with our xG stats and we are many a mile away from the dismal surrender at Oldham almost 12 months ago. Oldham translated to Vale would have given us a hammering yesterday but it didn't and that has been repeated at Newport and Swindon.

Read the Vale fans comments, yes, they are sore at not winning but some give us credit. I had a conversation with both David Flitcroft, DoF and others of Vale persuasion after the game and the view most clearly was "You will be there at the end, hope we're with you". Make of that what you will and possibly excepting next Tuesday, see where we go after the full season and January before you give up.

Tranmere have been artificially high in the table for a while. They had a crazy run when they just didn’t concede but their xG each game suggested they had been rather fortunate and the run wasn’t sustainable. Its no surprise to see them slide in the last month now luck is leveling out.

we just need our luck to level out and we’ll be heading in the other direction. It’ll come now the injured players are returning :)

Whilst we should be aiming for 6 of course, you are wrong with your suggestion that 4 points wouldn't be good, of course it would

You know that team Adams got promoted last season? Have a look at how many points they were on after 16 games last season, and then come back and explain your reasoning for why you are so certain we are not going up this season.
