Another Vale fan here. Good to see a forum in this league where there are actual posts. God I despise this league.

It's going to be a tough game tomorrow. As others have said, Bradford are probably in a false position as they seem to create a shed load of chances, particularly in the first half of games but seem to concede a lot of sloppy goals. We're flying at the moment, scoring for fun and our work rate is excellent. Conlon, Wilson and Gibbons are currently up with the best players in the league.

However, we all know that these runs won't last forever. We've been burnt so many times before as vale fans, with the chance to go top, live on sky, chance to beat our best run of home wins on the trot, it all adds up to an away win. If we do scrape it then I might really start to believe! Adams is a canny manager who knows what it takes to get out of this league, so I'm certain he'll be setting up to win.

Having lived in Leeds for 3 years, I've always had a soft spot for Bradford as most Leeds fans I met were dicks! Some of the finest curries I've ever eaten in Bradford too. You deserve better than being in this shite league. Best of luck for the season (after tomorrow )

 

I too cannot believe the negativity from some towards Adams and the players on social media.

That was a very good point against the in form team of our division who have been scoring for fun recently.

I thought we looked very well organised, the goal apart, I thought we defended very well.

Going a goal down away from home against anyone, nevermind a top 3 team in the previous few seasons would have seen us fold like a pack of cards. Credit where it is due, Adams responded with a double substitution that changed the second half and swung the balance back in our favour. After we equalised, I thought we pushed on strongly looking for the winner rather than sit back.

1 - 0 down away to Port Vale the form team in the league, fought back to claim a point, some won't be happy but I'll take that.

 

Decent enough game in the end. We didn't hit the heights of some of our recent performances and Bradford nullified our threats well. You guys looked organised and solid, one of the better teams we have played so far. Both teams had chances and with Angol on from the start you might have nicked it. A point was probably a fair result in the end.

I said before the game that our good run wouldn't last forever and a year ago we would have lost that game, so I'm pleased with a point against a team who I am sure will be top 7 at the end.

Good following from your lot too, particularly considering the kick off time. Good luck for the rest of the season.

 

Can't believe the negativity here. Since the beginning of October - including the FA cup - we've played six of the teams above us in the table and only lost to one. Fair enough, we're quite capable of losing to teams below us but have we seen any team above us who we need to be afraid of? For sure we aren't the complete package but we do have some good players, though making a good team out of them is clearly problematic, and Adams is still in his first season. For sure visiting VP is a lot happier experience than it has been for quite a while and Adams looks like someone who not only knows his job but can provide entertainment as well - something we haven't seen in quite a while.

Cheer up - at least I don't think we'll be relegated this season and how often have we been able to say that?

 

Vale would have gone top with a win. And they weren't impressive. We're not far away, but if the club don't provide that extra bit of quality in January it'll be criminal

 

I don't know why people are so downcast when there's such a long way to go. We've been devastated by injuries virtually all sesson so far and if we can put most of our best players out consistently we'll certainly improve. We're not a great team, and like everyone else I can see where we can improve, but our problems are the same as every side in this division and we've as much a shout as anyone else.

 

Is that 5 without defeat, yes another draw but steadily building with a bit of quality coming back, we'll get there.

Okay i am expecting pelters here for saying this, but..

what is actually the difference between the two? If one is virtue signalling the other surely is too right? Like at the end of the day we are just thinking. No action or anything is taking place to fix a issue, just a brief pause to reflect. Which is exactly the same with taking a knee. Its a moment to reflect and think.

How would you feel if people booed during the silence? There are people out there that have negative thoughts about remembrance Sunday yet they keep their mouths shut.

Just because you disagree with one doesn’t make it any less valid.

Not only is Angol a very good player he is likeable and appears to enjoy being there in the mix..

How good would that back 4 be in this league now?

 

I'd rather not be having to rely on teams imploding like Exeter did that season. We have shown in the last 4 games there is nothing in this division, there isn't one stand out team. The ones that defend and take their chances consistently will decide the top three, the longer we keep failing to pick up wins the less likely it will be us.

Is this the great Port Vale we should be in fear of, so far very average on their own ground.

 

Standard league 2 game. This is what you get. I've seen lots worse as a spectacle.

 

Its not on Adams one bit. Its a lack of quality at either end of the pitch. The team is set up in a solid way in terms of system and we create plenty of chances. When you keep missing chances and gifting goals through individual errors, thats not on the manager. He needs backing in January, no excuses.
