Yep. He said that he needed better players in key areas. That the players went stale after achieving staying up and that some players have been protecting themsleves for contracts in the summer.

This current squad has absolutely no connection with the fans as we haven’t seen most of them play live.
Get rid of them all and build the bond with fans with a new squad

 

Sounds like excuses to me. He's the manager, if he knew players hearts weren't in it, why keep playing them?

These 2 aren't anywhere near tough enough. They don't have the gravitas to command any respect with the players.

Precisely. It's up to the manager(s) to maintain discipline. If some players have been "going through the motions", they should have been sidelined. In a scenario like that, before you know it, the malaise goes through the rest of the team - which is exactly what's happened.

 

Morecambe making the playoffs and almost getting automatic promotion shows probably what Derek Adams strengths are. T&S are probably good coaches but that isn't enough, it's about man/player management. Morecambe are a small club but Adams has changed the mentality of the club, from the top down to the playing squad.
We have all bad mouthed our players, me as much as any body , and quite rightly so but man for man I would say that over the whole squad ability wise we have better players but it's getting the right reaction from the players. That is why I would replace Trueman and Sellers now, they haven't got the experience to do that, I can't imagine them getting the right reaction from the players.
Either get rid now or bring in someone experienced to work with them, which I can't see happening. Whatever happens the squad needs a big overhaul.

 

I said a couple of weeks ago that I thought they might have lost the dressing room and it appears that might be the case because yet again, Bradford City is not a place our players want to be.

 

Agree you hear manager defending performances by saying "we see them every day in training" so if you know they are going through the motions then you come down on them likes a ton of bricks, no excuses.

im really not sure where we go from here. at least we have the chance to radically alter the playing squad. especially if they have taken the foot off the gas, once safety was achieved, that is totally unacceptable and if i am honest, some players did look that way.

 

Exactly. Its been obvious for a while the Wood has been holding back a bit so he can get a summer move. Drop him. You can't play players who aren't giving 100%. It undermines the team and the manager(s). Its naivety and inexperience.

They're passive on the sidelines, we're passive as a side.

I'm serious, get Steve Evans in. Let's stop being such a soft touch. He'd build a side that any team would fear to play against at VP.

He's probably utterly p#ssed off with the team we clearly have players capable of better on the pitch. The more Callum Cookes we have in the team the better off we'll be. The interview was interesting he's as much as said that some have changed attitudes since we got safe. I'm going to say they should be given the chance next season. They need to be ruthless with letting players go now no quarter shown not good enough either in ability or mentality they need be gone even if they are under contract.

 

If they couldn't motivate a team into a promotion charge when the chance was there this season, why would they be able to do it next?
