Can't agree with your thesis regarding Stuart having players more popular than him or earning more than him. He's the most self deprecating man I've ever had the privilege of meeting. The man would put anybody before himself and was always reluctant to take praise, instead directing applause to players and other members of staff.
I still love the bloke and will always regret that it didn't work for him as our manager.

 

Not having that, McCall isn’t the sort of man to dislike someone because they earn more or are more popular. I was once joking with him about shouting to him to come back to Bradford in the warm ups before Scotland played Switzerland in Euro ‘96, he laughed about it and moved on to talking about McCoist’s goal in that game, anything but talk about himself. If you think that he’s not the first to but some one else in front of himself then you’re wrong. Captaining City to the PL, certainly a big moment in his career and for his club, but he scored a late equaliser in the FA Cup Final against Spurs I think, won the Scottish FA Cup three times and the league five times, played 40 times for Scotland and scored a goal in Italia ‘90. There’s a lot in his career, he played along side some proper players like Gazza, Laudrup and Gattuso and was arguably replaced in the Rangers squad by van Bronckhurst. Class act, not the most skilful but one of the best players and best men ever to wear a City shirt, the club could exist for another 118 years and that will still be true.

They were better on the right hand side today most stuff went out wide that side and if you have a 6'5" centre forward your going to win you're fair share of headers which they did.
Once again thd opposition had more possession but second half we looked dangerous on both flanks when Crankshaw came on, boy have I missed a atmosphere like today both sets of fans giving it to each other then when Cook scored the winner our end went wild, some game.

 

Adams confirmed Cooke is fine and wanted to stay on; Adams just wanted to freshen it up a bit.

Also confirmed Angol likely to be out for a while, might need operation. Sounds similar to Stauntons injury last year. It's a shame for the lad as he started the season well. In hindsight, 4 games in 2 weeks probably asking too much of him after not playing since January.

Good that we have no mid week fixture. All the lads have given their all in each of the 5 games so far over a short spell. Also gives Adams a chance to assess fitness and injuries, and look to see where we might need to bring in reinforcements until January

 

The most pleasing thing is after many years we seem to have a manager who knows what he is doing and can manage a game, In Adams we trust!!

The win yesterday shows the attitude of what Adams has instilled in this squad. There was little between the two teams and a lot on here would have been happy with the point. But Adams wants more from this squad, winning those type of games yesterday is the difference between playoffs and automatic promotion.

 

We made some good Summer signings too ... starting to wear them down now. 3-2 City I say.
