Once again today the referee let the game flow (I though a little to Mansfields advantage at times) but Cook in this sort of form takes some handling their central defenders knew they were in a game.

 

Adams confirmed Cooke is fine and wanted to stay on; Adams just wanted to freshen it up a bit.

Also confirmed Angol likely to be out for a while, might need operation. Sounds similar to Stauntons injury last year. It's a shame for the lad as he started the season well. In hindsight, 4 games in 2 weeks probably asking too much of him after not playing since January.

It's clear we need to bring in another striker now

Are you talking about Callum Cooke? He wasn't injured so far as I could see. Think Adams took him off because he'd put in a real shift, was knackered and we needed some fresh legs. And the great thing this season is we have alot of game changers on the bench, whatever the match.

He looked comfortable on the ball.
A couple of times he seemed to touch it too far in front of him, their lads eyes lit up and went for it and Songo’o just played a simple pass round him.
Also a couple of belting tackles. He just stood there like a wall.

 

The most pleasing thing is after many years we seem to have a manager who knows what he is doing and can manage a game, In Adams we trust!!

 

Looking at the Stag's forum, they are reporting that Clough called out two of their players in his post match interview - Hewitt and Rawson. Can anyone who went, or who saw the match whilst on "holiday" say whether this was deserved?
I never like managers who do that publicly to their players, although I accept it is a tactic that works with some, but I always think anything like that is best done out of the public eye. If he is doing that after 4 matches and their 1st loss, I am not convinced that over the season they will maintain good form. It is a negative approach. If he felt they were that poor, why didn't he sub them?

 

I agree that it was 50-50 and he played the ball. But his foot was high and his follow through hit their player. In my book that's a fair tackle. But, with the much higher emphasis on player safety these days, I've seen plenty of red cards given for less robust challenges in recent years

 

Don't you worry there will be plenty of excitement with this crew, they never know when their beat, most would have been happy take 2 - 2 not this squad.

 

Not only full of drama throughout the game, but on the off field narrative. Andy Cook, got rid of by Mansfield scores the winner. Charles Vernham who had a spell with them too, scores the second. This was full of mistakes and errors from both sides, but on the whole, I thought it was also a brilliant advert for League Two football at its best. Tons of endeavour, strong intent and various little patches of superb football.

This is disappointing, I thought he looked good (even though his shooting was all over the place). Feels like a bit of a foolish move knowing his Injury history and the fact Sparks said we won’t be taking players with injury problems, I hope he isn’t out for too long.

 

Sore loser. Revell blamed the ref fo4 not getting TWO pens , not this kangaroo blames his players . ( It’s all for public consumption to be popular…bit like the sex yeti?)

 

He had a go at their RB in particular. I thought it was a bit harsh even though Vernam tore him a new one at times. To be fair to the lad I think it was their tactics and obsession with our right side that left them so open and vulnerable on our left.

Our left side is pretty unplayable at the moment.

The right won’t be far off when Oscar gets back either.
