The Birkbeck is indeed an excellent watering hole and probably a bit less crowded than those places nearer the ground.

If my memory serves me correct, a number of years ago Archers Brewery chose to 'launch' a new beer at the Birkbeck Tavern to celebrate our visit to Leyton Orient. This one:

Pre/Post match pubs. The Football Grounds Guide, https://footballgroundguide.com/leagues/others/brisbane-road-leyton-orient.html always has an informative section about pubs.
When we were down in 2019, the Leyton Technical (former Victorian College) was heaving, but it is a very large building. Decent selection of beers.
If you want to find your own pub, then the What Pub guide is excellent. https://whatpub.com/search?q=Leyton&lat=51.5667&lng=-0.016667&r=10&t=t&p=1&home=1
You can filter out pubs which don’t serve Cask Beer, there is a ‘real ale available’ filter on the right hand side menu bar.

Looking forward to this, a ground i haven't been to. Not bothered about pubs, as long as there's somewhere for something to eat that'll do me. looks like i'm one of the few that doesn't drink at the football.

Yes, they are at home. I am pretty certain the BBC website had it the other way round the other day when I posted.
Still, it is an extra 90 minutes City won't have and they will.

Ten Bells and Pride of Spittalfield on Brick Lane are also great pubs, as is the one they use in Goodnight Sweetheart in Hoxton - The Royal Oak on Columbia Road

And I thought that our play over the the last 4 seasons had driven all of us to drink before and after the game.

Spitalfield is over 7 miles from Orient. A bit like saying the Kirkstall Bridge is a good pub before coming to VP!

Do they still allow guns? Even if they do, you can't take your horse in.

We will obviously get teams parking the bus but this year we might have players who can deal with that. Thinking Cook. Vernam and Crankshaw.

Very true, but then there isn't a fantastic tube system between Kirkstall and VP is there. Aldgate East or Whitechapel to Mile end (or from the Royal Oak then go to Bethnal Green) then change at Mile End for Leyton. 23 minutes and both a good distance break from KX

For those who wants a pint in Kings Cross then a visit to Mabel's Tavern on Mabledon Place, or The Big Chill House on Pentonville Road is my first stop on any trip to London. (Or if I'm feeling posh the Betjemen Arms in St Pancras Station).

Other great pubs available in Bloomsbury & Fitzrovia.

For tight arses then O'Neills opposite Camden Town Hall or The Euston Flyer are always options. Both are wannabe spoons.

Because i'd spend more time in the toliets than watching the game. Had to knock on a guys door away at Grimsby before lockdown otherwise i'd have pissed myself. And that was 2 cans of pepsi.

A little creative with the time to travel! ;)

    upload_2021-8-23_15-27-38.png

There is the fabulous Kirkstall Forge to Bradford Forster Square option!

To drive from The Bridge to VP (which you can readily do in West Yorkshire) is relatively easy.

Driving after lots of beer isn't good. And of one train per hour stops at Kirkstall forge on the forster Square line, the other is the skipton train. The walk from the ten bells to Whitechapel is quicker, thats what I've based my calculations on :)

I'm also not counting the walk from Leyton to brisbane Rd as you wod have to do that wherever you drank ! Can't beat Whitechapel for a good crawl.
