I'm not a million miles away from your thinking to be honest with you, and I'm convinced Ryan should have an important role at this club because of his excellent work in certain fields.

Derek Adams and Phil Parkinson share certain parallels too, although Adams personality seems to be rubbing a lot of people up the wrong way. Even at the fan's forum his first response to the very first question was confrontational and defensive when it could and should have been a lot more measured and controlled. I'm 50-50 on Adams, as I was with Parkinson at a couple of points of his tenure; I wouldn't cry if he left, nor will I throw a hissy fit if he stays on a bit longer.

But I'd switch Rupp out unless he is able to address the serious issues at the club. Number one, we need a DoF or a CEO that knows more about football than Ryan. Ryan lacks expertise, I don't care what anyone says, it's clear to see. Results speak for themselves. A DoF would be a nicer route, as it keeps Ryan in the position of CEO but removes him from the firing line with regards on the field activities, which are not going well.

Adams, he is who he is, and he's a couple of bad results and poor interviews away from having the fans turn on him, in which case it's out of Bradford City's hands. He'll have to go, just as with Bowyer, like it or lump it unfortunately.

In a previous post, someone nailed it when they said that the previous team under Lawn (Mason & Owen) were far better at getting fans onside. If that requires bringing someone like Jones is as ambassador, then snap to it.

We aren't doing enough IMO to justify carrying on as we are. BIG changes, even if nobody actually loses their job right away.

Ok point taken. It doesnt change the bigger point, though…..Parky walked into a club in crisis, heading out of the league, and his brief was to keep us up.

Adams joined a financially stable club with a good budget for his division with a brief of winning promotion.

Yes we was the better side for 50 mins we should have had 2 or 3 goals but there goalkeeper makes decent saves
But as my friends from Harrogate said if we had a winger or two they was there for the taking
Harrogate got a lucky deflected goal and our heads went down & we was there for the taking and Harrogate did
Adams subs did not help his team selection was baffling to me why pick a back 5 and have Threlkeld in midfield when you have 4 better midfield players on the bench
Everything through the middle no width when we have to defend a corner or free kick all 11 payers back clear it and it come straight back no out ball
Adams says the players legs have gone are they not fit
The buck stops with Adams if Sparkes has not got sence to realise he has made a mistake or he still thinks Adams is the right man for the job then Sparkes should employ a dof who Adams would have to answer to
One last point Harrogate Towns ground is the coldest in the football league still not thawed out

Sparks won't stand up to Rupp.

He's probably the only owner in the EFL who would've given him the job as CEO.

Yes and at no point did he blame the fans or call Sparks stupid, both of which have been suggested on here and I didn't hear him call himself a messiah but I'm sure you'll be able to provide a direct quote to enlighten me. There's a lot to dislike about Adams and his attitude but some of the hyperbole on here about this interview is beyond ridiculous and as I said in my original post, he is now reaping what he has sown over the last few weeks with his confrontational and obtuse analysis of recent poor performances.

Agreed. Parky's job that season was to keep us up.

Adams signing Kelleher, Threlkeld, Songo'o and Gilliead doesn't fill me with any confidence that things will be better next season.

Until we start getting our recruitment right, it will be a struggle for whoever is the Manager.

That's why I couldn't understand swapping Turnbull for Adams' three scouts. Adams goes, we're starting again.

Wetherbywhaler I am sure you can understand why the fans feel like this.
We have had seasons of decline since mr Rupp took over and since the heady days of the premiership.
We were asked what we would pay for our season tickets and voted for a large increase, with the promise of increased budget and a better playing squad , promotion the aim. Well at this point in the season , i for one , am eternally gratefull that there are some teams worse than us , as this squad is so far from promotion, a squad that the manager has had total control over. At times this season we have looked like relegation fodder.

and this is why what @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler just said has no weight.

Let’s remember what Ryan Sparks said:

It was my aim by the time I was 30 to be CEO at a football club.

    However, it’s not about me!

So, was he really bothered about Edin? Or just being a opportunist? Make your own mind up! Mine is made.

If Ryan Sparks cared about the club he would a)!resign or b) Tell Rupp to Feck off

As fans we don't know the situation with regards how/why Turnbull left, did Adams say I do my owner scouting its Turnbull or me, and if so why was this not sorted before Adams signed as manager, Ryan says he did his due diligence on Adams surely that was one aspect he would have discussed with Derek player recruitment ?.

My post said “the idiot is basically calling himself the messiah” no mention of a direct quote, anything about the fans or Sparks!!! He is arrogant beyond belief for a team with such a piss poor record this season. He said something along the lines of the cub would be stupid and immature to think about sacking him….. really!!!!

Only my opinion but some of the comments on Radio Leeds after the game were very relevant today.
Rational supporters were saying its got to a stage where its impossible now to know who is responsible, who to blame, who to trust to turn this shambles round. Morais again spoke a lot of sense and has a good empathy with the fans frustrations whilst having that bit more insight as a player at the club.
Ultimately we are crying out for someone to galvanise the situation and provide some hope but again, right now no one is stepping up to the plate

We seem a long way behind other clubs on recruitment.

If the budget is not the biggest then we have to get smarter with it.

I don’t think his interview was as bad as people are making out. Don’t like the guy and would be happy to get rid but saying he slated the fans is harsh. My main concern with Adams is his opinion of his side being the better team! Thought first half was very 50/50 and we were on top second half until they scored. After that we offered nothing! Personal view but we are the better side in every game according to Derek…..Deluded.

That seems the case. We're clearly not spending it very well.

We've stockpiled attacking midfield players/forwards when we really need some quality.

    That's Adams decision.

We've got scope for another big clearout in the summer but I'm not confident we're going to be any better next season.

Ok, I've not replied to you before but will this time and let's see if we can have a constructive discussion.

The problem as I see it @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler is that Ryan started the season saying "promotion is the aim", now of course probably half the teams in this league say the same thing, but when the CEO says it so loudly, we (I?) listen because we're supposed to, right?

If Ryan had said "we want to aim for promotion but realise this may be a transition season as Derek moulds and develops the squad", I would have been "OK, I get that, Derek has a good record, let's get behind this"

So, you say calm down but the CEO has raised expectations, and then the Manager has raised expectations but then the manager also talks about all these nebulous "issues" and "problems" and 7 months down the line doesn't seem to be solving them because he's still going on about them.

Then frankly we haven't played well enough to win a string of games - I'm being generous probably when I think of a string as 3 or 4. A good start because we had an early settled squad and we got the jump on others and we're cohesive and won games but since then we've been worked out and the manager appears unable to make changes during the game that result in us coming from behind.

So, "calming down" is not my problem, I was all for calm! The CEO and manager raised expectations and they're not living up to them and frankly the manager is blaming everyone but himself!

I'll end on a genuine offer - I live in Stevenage. Message me if you want to catch up on Tuesday and have a chat in person. I'll even buy you the first drink ;)
