As I posted earlier, Weaver said it would come down to who wanted it most. I can guarantee if we'd scored first, Harrogate's heads wouldn't have gone down like ours did.
Adams said afterwards that footballers are diiferent these days and don't have the same character, but it's weird that other clubs don't seem to have a problem with that like we do.

Correct! We had 3 or 4 good chances to score and yet again we wasted them. Harrogate scored a lucky deflected goal and with this group of players we were never gonna come back.

No he isn’t. I hear he’s about to start a new job soon and it’s not BCFC. James is a friend but Ryan and team have done far more off the pitch than he did either pre or during Rahic. Ryan also stood up to Rahic, James went off to another job and good luck to him going forward.

Out of interest. Do you think your mate Sparks should sack Adams this weekend?. Did you hear the arrogant post match interview, not withstanding the performances and results, surely his comments about us fans should be the final straw?

 

If forcing Sparks to change his approach to recruitment and youth wasn't evidence enough as to who wears the trousers in that relationship then this interview tonight confirms it. Adams basically calling Sparks out and daring him to sack him.

And he knows he can. Because if he goes, his scouts go and the man who has no football knowledge is left to build a football department at the club again. And more than likely, he'll fail. Again.

He is not the most eloquent and articulate is he, but I have just listened to that twice and I don't believe his intention was to blame us fans. He is saying fans are impatient as are the clubs, not that the fans have caused the demise of the club. He just isn't very savvy with the media tbh, but let's not read things into it that aren't there. He also says some things in the spur of the moment which are unwise - the 'immature' comment. He'd be better playing with a straight bat but just don't think he's able.

The meltdown on here about him blaming the fans isn't warranted from that - IMHO of course.

 

Sparks background is marketing isn’t it where performance and targets are related very closely to your job security? So why is he accepting of Adams level of performance and piss take interviews?

 

Fair play to Ryan for improving the business side of things, but a football club only can thrive if the product of the pitch is deemed acceptable by its fans.

We could be looking at a situation soon where he’s handing out his 4th permanent contract in 15/16 months. That says to me he isn’t up to running the footballing side which is quite a big deal at a football club. He’s made some big claims such as, we will always be a transfer window ahead(when he brought Turnbull in), we will have a focus on youth and play an attractive style then brings in a manager who’s is known for neither of those things. Oh and we’ll only accept promotion and not mediocrity. Well what’s this?

Ryan can run the business side of things but we need something like a sporting director who can actually pull off a vision for the footballing side of things. Because Ryan hasn’t proven himself capable.

It wasn't the comments about fans that I felt was the really appalling part of it. It was blatantly ridiculing Sparkes and almost daring him to sack him that I felt was awful.
