Exactly that we have as much if not more quality than the majority in this league it’s just another Fordyism

 

Yes Fordy but not loads .Another goal threat and a fit Songo'o available and playing 90 minutes. Watt had a really good first half but once Threlkeld went off and Sutton went to right back Watt didn't have as much influence plus Sutton sat deeper than Threlkeld and that gave Exeter too much space down that side. We've now got a midfield enforcer but we need him fit and on the pitch.

 

None of the names you list there particularly excite me, a number of them are either part of help the aged, injured most of the time or had one decent season. Just shows a lack of quality all over this league.

 

Angols cross to Cook in the 2/3rd minute case in point. He’s trying too hard to please resulting hitting a simple pass as hard as a shot. Just needed composure and one up!

There isn't a team in this league with a real quality standout player so the team that wins it will be the one where the manager has the most influence and I guarantee you mow it won't be salford or swindon

The first game of season is not where honours are won. Yes we could have and maybe should have won yesterday but Exeter is a long trek, they are a decent team and it was always gonna be a strange day with fans there for first time in 18 months.
I’ll take a point as a positive but unless we have back to back home wins against Oldham and Stevenage then there will be murmourings of discontent in the stands.

 

If we had played poorly against a very good side I'd take a point. We played well enough and had chances to finish the game off. I want to see us winning games like this now, not settling for a point when 3 points are there for the taking. I accept your points as it was the first game of the season but as the season goes on I want us to win these types of games, not draw them.

 

Agreed, but it’s too early to start wittering about dropped points, over the season of 46 games all we can ask / expect is that we gain enough points for a top 3 finish.

 

Good points and didn't we also have quite a few newcomers as well.

Hearing from those who went I also feel its 2 points lost however there is plenty of time to address the decision making aspect over the coming weeks.

All in all its a decent start and at least we got into positions where we could cause danger to Exeter. How many games have we seen over the last 2/3 seasons where we didn't look like we could penetrate a soggy brown paper bag.

Adams is known for his teams creating chances so I agree that inwardly he will be seething we didn't take at least 1 of them yesterday.

 

Again fair points, at this stage of the season the team is getting to know its individual parts but as the season starts to develop I'd expect that performance yesterday to be getting us at least two goals. Ultimately taking gilt edged chances is what gets us out of this league. If you want a positive its that we did create those chances.

 

There’s no doubt that on another day we could have easily won the game.
Stood on the terrace yesterday and looking back at the chances I think Gillead, Sutton and Angol might have done better.
For all his good link up play, I felt Angol was lightweight which is fine if Cook is the hold up man, but means Angol has to be more clinical in front of goal. He missed 2 sitters yesterday
