I think from how quick Hughes was to get out and do his interview he just wanted to get on the bus and set off home.
Pathetic effort from the players today, apart from more promise from Angol - we can only hope it has crystalised what needs to be done

 

I’ve been saying it for weeks , he wins headers yes, that his job , yet some say we should be grateful. ? Oh but “Sheffield Wed are watching him” I’ll drive him if they are daft enough! Yet it’s a given right for him to be in the 11 even though he struggles to pass the ball straight and a proven poor temperament . Today just about sums him up. I just hope Wednesday got stuck in traffic!

 

I’m sure Interested Bystander will let us be aware that they have paid him silly money for a good few years now.

 

He knows what he’s doing I said it very early in the first half , let the fringe players prove to themselves, as well as himself they aren’t worth a shirt. Threlkeld should be ashamed for starters, Cook, Sutton, Cooke, Evans . It’s a long list! I thought Sutton could make a fullback, he answered it really?

 

This group of players deserve no support

Hughes can cone out and say that is not the normal today. Sorry but that is the normal for this squad of players dreadful performances are not far away

They are not playing like they were when he first arrived. They've resumed normal service

 

I really like Sutton but even he looked disinterested

 

Unless the right kind of 'pay as you play' deal can be agreed. To be honest I would rather we do that and add 2 more strikers than keep Cook who just lacks mobility (and obviously all the other front men at the club can do one)

 

He was poor in amongst a bunch of banality. What the hell is Bass even doing kicking the ball straight into touch with not a City player within 15 yards. He’s done it several games on the spin.He needs to get gone too!

 

Sutton is not good enough and should be shown the door like most of them

 

Exactly. This squad of players has seen us 2 points off 20th place. Whatever the rights and wrong of this season that simply is disgraceful. To be 20 points off the playoffs just shows the levels this club has dropped to. For Sutton United to be that far ahead of us, the heirachy of this club should publicly apologise for what they have done to this club.

 

His distribution is poor. It seems you can’t have everything at this level.

 

I heard that he should be appointed with in 10 days; that was a few days ago.

 

Phone calls to both of their agents - neither Oscar or Fiacre will figure in any of my plans next season. Either they stay here on their contracts, train with the kids and cheat their wage. Or they both try to resurrect their careers and make something of their footballing futures by taking on new challenges and ambitions elsewhere.

 

If there was something that said he was learning then it would be that he subbed Threlkeld at HT.

He would probably have made a different third change but another stupid sending off made it hard for him!

 

That's it methinks for out-of-contracts Callum Cooke, Caolan Lavery and Levi Sutton - given another chance, were all toothless. Find a way to get rid of Threkeld, Evans, Kelleher and Cook too. I'd try and do a medical deal with Angol - send him out to the best specialists we can afford in close season to see how best to manage and avoid further problems and then offer him pay by play deal. Bass won't be here next season - he'll either get a new deal with Portsmouth or another Lg 1/top Lg 2 club. Think Walker will get a decent deal somewhere in the Scottish Premier and his family are up in Scotland. That's nine off the books. God, wasn't it shocking today. Awful fayre.
