For reasons related to the prediction league, I am very happy with that result.

Welcome three points but Barrow can rightly feel robbed. The standard of football in league 2 is barely professional.

Cracking win and start to the new year with most of the squad only having had a few days training. Let’s hope this is a start of a comeback

It was hardly a classic but we've been on a poor run lets just enjoy the 3 points and believe we can continue against Carlise next Saturday, we know sometimes once in a poor run it may take a bit of luck to stop that run and today we rode our luck at times but this result should give the player a little more belief in themselves. and a full week with no distractions. -
Lets just enjoy the win, lots of games this year we should have won and finished up drawing. Leaders Forest green a perfect example.Bronco, Jayteebee and Rogered Tart like this. -

Doesn't detract from your point about the common tactical approach we seem to deploy when we're leading though.
Giving away the goal so quickly after we scored was a problem. If we'd stayed at 2-0 for longer, I think the game would have petered out more comfortably.Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...Bantamsteve, andyc and Botswana Bantam like this. -

For me Robinson offers nothing up front (as he proved today - lazy movement for a needless offside too).
At least Vernam would have offered pace to their defence and given them something to think about.Inspector, Bronco and Bantamsteve like this. -
And then when some of us, point out the sheer madness of those ignoring what is (literally!!) right in front of them, i.e. the latest Covid wave, we're apparently letting the team off the hook.
If this has been a normal build up to a game, I wouldn't even have posted tonight - except to say lucky win, need to improve, let's move on.wetherbywhaler, AJP and 1975citygent like this. -

There are people on here who beforehand stated the result was everything yesterday, but have still moaned about Adams decisions - I know it wasn't pretty but the culmination of players returning from injury and illness gave him an awful lot to think about and manage, particularly in the 2nd half.
Could be one in before Carlisle, Scout has indicated talks are well progressed (before you ask no idea who ) -

An interesting by product of having a period of no games over a number of weeks, is the impact of individual and team performance highlighted by I believe Lee Hendrie and Don Good man in the QPR V BOURNEMOUTH and NEWCASTLE V MANCHESTER UNITED games, in which several times, the lack of sharpness, awareness and basic errors were highlighted for QPR and MANCHESTER UNITED. Think it was Don Good man whom said United were playing in a "pre season mode".
Flip side, recall Spurs playing excellent against Liverpool..
But it does beg a question (I think)... Does time off against playing time actually equate as an advantage, neutrality or potentially a disadvantage?banbrotam and WilsdenBantam like this. -

I’m actually looking forward to this. Three weeks off…..absence makes the heart grow fonder etc.
If we draw the apathy will no doubt return but let’s see what happens.
Is Cook fit again? -
According the local rag we're struggling to out a team out.
So the excuses are there for all to see.
Struggling to get a team together, fitness an issue because of the 3 week break.
Bingo.
