No sadly I don't think his position is under threat i think he is virtually running the club at the moment and that is a dangerous situation(remember how easily he left Morecambe after taking them to promotion) whether he is given the funds in January and if he spends it well remains to be seen if not then we are well and truly up the creek without a paddle yes we rode our luck today and 3 points are welcome but we need to remember that was virtually a reserve Barrow side
who are lower than us in the table Time will tell but let's not get carried away with today's result

Yes, I appreciate that and I've just heard Derek's explanation. The trouble is it happens when everyone's match fit as well.

Nonsense again Park we have done that for the last dozen or so matches thats why we have dropped so many points
Sitting back and getting every man behind the ball once in front is an Adams tactic and may well cost us promotion
Regardless of covid infections or Cooks injury

We couldn't put a team out three days ago, yet some fans seem perplexed by a second half fade out.

Very few elite athletes have bounced back good as new immediately after Covid - go look at the evidence, it is very compelling.

I'm not certain what you expected. I was praying this match was off, as I felt we had no chance - due to the devastation that the Covid outbreak delivered.

If it’s a reserve Barrow side then maybe it’s an excuse we should start making about ourselves as for much of the season we’ve had 4-5 starters out injured. It’s a squad game I don’t like people making excuses for us when we have injuries, nor should we make them for other clubs.

    Fair point
My point was we play the same way when we have no injuries take the lead try to defend it and lose or draw
Its the tactics that will cost us promotion this season
Am not convinced he would change that if he brings in 4/5 new signings

It's my opinion on what I just saw. I am entitled to that, the fact it differs from yours is of no surprise to me.

Barrow had a few players out injured. If they had covid in the squad , the game would probably not have gone ahead, they could not fill the bench as it was.
Lets just enjoy the win, lots of games this year we should have won and finished up drawing. Leaders Forest green a perfect example.

    Maybe it will.
But our form when Angol and Cook have started together has been promotion form.

When we’ve relied on Robinson and/or Lavary it’s been relegation form. A bit simplistic maybe but it says to me improving the quality of the starting 11 and thus the bench would in fact make a difference regardless of your opinion on tactics.

:joy::joy: I love the way some fans seem to think that if a team isn't winning after the managers had just half a season - then they need replacing.

I've got news for you, Adam's job is safer than the the newly appointed well known Boston fan, Sir Jonathan Van Tam.

And quite rightly. If you don't think so, then kindly answer the following;-

    1. How many teams get anywhere with giving their manager only half a season
    2. What have tPhil Parkinson and Paul Jewell at our club together with Paul Warne and Gareth Ainsworth all got in common? (clue, it wasn't getting sacked after 22 games - even though results were below what was expected!!!)

I'd start to think before you post. Your "Hopefully only buys him another game or two" is already the funniest line of 2022.

That's what Adams does. He's done it regularly this season - drop deep and hang on to a one goal lead or even a draw.

He's too risk averse to run away with a league or go on a long run of wins because there will inevitably be draws and losses with that approach over time

Maybe if he has confidence in his players the tactics may change
    I hope so

That's a fair view. Against Forest Green we fully deserved a win but didn't get one, today (regardless of any reasons/excuses) we were poor and Barrow should feel hard done by after being the better side for much of the game. That's football as they say.

Where did I differ from you about the quality of the match?

It's a "surprise to me" that an intelligent poster like you, can't suss out that it would be highly likely that the performance would deteriorate as the match went on - given how badly we were affected by Covid.

It's simply a reasonable point. Numerous teams have had poor results after the outbreaks - if they've had less than a weeks recovery time
