You guys! We won. For the first time since October. And away from home. Our two main strikers, back together again, both scored. Many of our players were recovering from Covid, most haven't trained properly for over two weeks. Jeezus, the grim gruesome negativity on here really pisses me off sometimes. Whatever the team and Adams achieve in the coming months will never be enough for some of you. If we get into play offs, we',ll be rubbish because we're not in automatics. If in automatics, we're garbage because we're not champions. For Chirissakes, just enjoy the day. WE WON!

win , lose or draw, one common factor is some city fans will moan.
We have just had 3 weeks without a game because of covid in the squad.
Who knows how badly the player's have been affected.
Yes , we are not brilliant and reinforcement is needed, but that was a big win today and showed a lot of character from the players. How many times in the past have we played well and come away with nothing.

Just to put into perspective how bad this league is, we’re 6 points off the playoffs with a game in hand and haven’t won since October.

Would be interesting to see our record when Angol and Cook have started together.
What a shame we haven’t invested in just 2 or 3 extra quality players and this league would be there for the taking.

We might lack quality, but lets give them credit today for seeing out the game and coming away with 3 points, and for Angol and Cook for taking their chances.

I can only imagine the players were shattered and suffering from the effects of Covid, hence the back to the walls last 30 minutes or so.

If we can get recruitment right this month, I know its a big IF, we could still mount a challenge, as this is an awful league devoid of much quality

I don't think anyone who saw todays performance could say it was anything but a poor performance, but when you listen to Adams comments with regards the squad and where we were on Wednesday lets give the players a break, we all know football can be very fickle when it comes down to results and how teams got them, then again some will say any excuse.

I’m sure there are statistics on these particular situations but managers are very opportunistic and will use the circumstances to their own advantage.
The winning manager will cite the rest that his players have had as a massive help while the losing manager will use that exact same amount of time not playing as an excuse that his players lacked “match sharpness”
Most of them are as fickle as us and will adapt their excuses to suit the unique situation.

Nope...but there's only been 4: Exeter & Barrow away, Oldham & Stevenage at home. 3 wins, 1 draw, and of our 8 goals scored in those matches, Angol & Cook have 7. Granted it's only a few matches, but the numbers do suggest that we need to keep those two healthy and on the pitch.

We couldn't put a team out three days ago, yet some fans seem perplexed by a second half fade out.

Very few elite athletes have bounced back good as new immediately after Covid - go look at the evidence, it is very compelling.

I'm not certain what you expected. I was praying this match was off, as I felt we had no chance - due to the devastation that the Covid outbreak delivered.

You're confusing some of the admittedly frustrating tactics of the past (actually caused by so many players recovering from injury and so Adams is reluctant to play them) with the current real time impact of Covid.

As you've refused to acknowledge that our win was remarkable given how Covid ravage the team for two weeks, I'd say it's you who lacks "focus"

You basically want to moan about the same old moans and so then conveniently forget that today's performance is rightly forgivable - given what the club has gone through with Covid.

Moreover, it shows how the club and players are 100% behind Adams. A real back to the walls performance, given that half the team were at a disadvantage compared to Barrow. I say half, because of we only had six players earlier this week - then it's unlikely that another eight have miraculously reached peak fitness in that time.

But please, don't shout the messenger - here's an article from earlier this year, when the effects of Covid on elite athletes was been realised. It's even more striking now.

    https://www.irishnews.com/sport/athletics/2021/02/06/news/long-term-effects-of-covid-on-athletes-beginning-to-emerge-2211812/

The win today was a frigging miracle. I couldn't give a flying f**k about the performance. Well done to Adams for getting 4 points out of the last 2 games, when frankly given the circumstances zilch looked far more likely. Clearly, there is nothing wrong with team spirit and Adams has their full respect.

Onwards and upwards for those of who don't believe moaning about the manager / performance every week is entertaining.

Meanwhile, we've you can keep reminding us at how terrible the tactics are, just like those proved wrong about Parky couldn't resist trolling back to his initial moderate spell, as the results improve.

He was awful. It was a very scrappy, rusty performance all round, though we did show grit. But yeah when Robinson came on he did nothing but give the ball away cheaply and be lazily caught offside.
