He'll get his chances to play in the team again and I'd always want someone in claret and amber to do well, but as a debut goes that was absolutely f'ing dreadful. I don't think clapping harder because he's a bantam would have improved a thing today.

That was up there with Richards-Everton levels of terrible.

 

I know what you mean but I don't think a lot of the comments are based on just this 1 game - a lot goes back to Gents largely abysmal additions in the new year, Hughes negative and stodgy style of play and it's fair to say the jury is out on this summers activity.
Might as well just put Hughes aftermatch comments on repeat play 'we will learn and get better' - sadly he seems the one incapable of learning and developing as a manager

 

I mean..... not a lot of these were wrong based on today. Always want someone to play well for us, but that was woeful and doesnt inspire confidence in him. Positive, the only way is up?........ maybe?

 

Doubtful anything will change at our club till the oversea money man sells up and we take a different direction backed by a sugar daddy who wants to spend his millions for fun.

I hate to write a player off so soon, but from other fans comments, pre season and today I have no idea why we have signed him. And no idea how he played ahead of Platt, who despite what a few think is a very solid defender at this level. I’m not bothered if a CB can take a throw I want them to defend.

 

Investment always helps. But what we actually need is proper leadership and a strategy. With our fanbase and associated commercials, we should have a very competitive budget anyway. We just piss it away. Look at the state of our squad and contract lengths.

 

I'm starting to wonder whether we signed him purely for his ability to throw the ball a long way. It's not inconceivable that this is a key reason why he was signed albeit a rather depressing thought in terms of our approach to recruitment.

 

One really has to question our recruitment. Did I read he has a two year contract? What the hell are we thinking of?
