Since when has pre season results meant anything?

 

Here’s a stat: we conceded 40 goals last season - the fifth least in the league. Defensively, we were sound last season.

Ok, we have two immobile strikers the wrong side of thirty who amassed 11 goals in league two last season. One of whom missed more sitters than he had hot dinners. All our hopes are on Kurtis Guthrie who was abysmal in the competitive games he played but has started pre season well. It could go either way. I'm not sure there's a single argument for any of those to be definitively classed as a goalscorer.

 

Oh well, in that case, you must be right.

With just under a 3rd of our playing budget left to spend, let’s see who we bring in - just a thought.

 

i loved Stuart as a player. As a manager ! He is alright when things are going well and his brand of football is providing positive results , its when that losing streak starts , he can't seem to stop and then it all falls apart.
He is starting to worry me now , 4 weeks since our last signing , 1 week to the first real game and he is now saying he is aware of players travelling 2 hours and the problems it brings. sort of limits us if we are only looking at players within 1 hour driving distance to vp.
With the restricted squad numbers, we could be watching lots of youngsters , once injuries and suspensions kick in but that is probably going to be the same for most clubs and the element of luck with these is going to be very important.

I just don't think we are doing ourselves any favours , in the middle of attempting to sell season tickets, in one of the most difficult times. A really good signing would give everyone a boost. We apparently have room in the budget but seem to be getting nothing but sob stories from Stuart. Just give us a bit of positive news on player recruitment. I dont care about what the kit looks like or who has just renewed a commercial deal , unless the new deal is going to be a real game changer and when has that ever happened at city.

 

I know first hand that the season ticket sales are better than expected (await the update, shortly). Next.

dont think its flapping , a manager who has admitted we are getting constantly blown out for players we WANTED and a week to go to the season is not good, or are we happy treading water in L2. and seeing the continual decline of our beloved club

 

Bolton lost 3-0 home to Crewe last night, friendlies mean little, except when we lose them of course. Bolton red hot favourite to win our league lets see what happens next Saturday.

Here's a stat, from the 1st of January we had played 12 games upto lockdown. In this run of 12 games we gained 14 points, conceded 20 goals and scored 14 with 2 clean sheets. Had lockdown not come and saved our sorry arses those stats would have looked even worse come the end of the season. Just a teeny weeny reason as to why fans are concerned with relatively inactive recruitment, especially defensive and central midfield. But hey, at least we have nice kits so not alls bad.
