I see from the T&A this morning that there are some really positive signs with regards to recruitment. Apparently, we've moved on from seeing what crops up to throwing our hat into the ring.

 

Massive task for the kit man
Unless the players have to take them home and wash them themselves

 

Sounds about right not having to pay wages till the last minute
The season starts a week today (EFL) and we still don't have our main goal threat on board
If and its a big if we sign one he won't be up to speed till early October at the earliest and no pre season
Will we ever learn !!!!!

i loved Stuart as a player. As a manager ! He is alright when things are going well and his brand of football is providing positive results , its when that losing streak starts , he can't seem to stop and then it all falls apart.
He is starting to worry me now , 4 weeks since our last signing , 1 week to the first real game and he is now saying he is aware of players travelling 2 hours and the problems it brings. sort of limits us if we are only looking at players within 1 hour driving distance to vp.
With the restricted squad numbers, we could be watching lots of youngsters , once injuries and suspensions kick in but that is probably going to be the same for most clubs and the element of luck with these is going to be very important.

 

Doesnt bode well for a new striker reading the article, a decent striker will always have options and sounds like he has struggled to convince players to come here.

Were getting sucked down to L2 level and its recruitment limitations appear to be getting worse for us.

Gonna be an interesting few weeks seeing how this pans out and whether we can still attract decent players who have other options.

 

It doesnt read great, sounds like he is a bit fed up with it ,accepting the situation not fighting to get player signings over the line. strange goings on.

 

I am sick of hearing the same repetitive excuses every other day, as to why we are struggling to sign players.

1 week to the start of the season and we appear to be no nearer signing a striker and right back.

Pretty soon they will run out of excuses and sign either 2 over the hill journeymen no one else wants or 2 young lads from a non league academy that no one has heard of sadly I can't see anything changing until the top two have gone we have problems from top to bottom

 

The whole 'having to travel 2 hours' is such a bullish!t excuse. We couldn't be more centrally located. That excuse only works for the likes of Plymouth and Carlisle.

Just sign some players, we've barely got a team!

People are rightly concerned. Laugh all you want but have you seen the state of our squad? One week until the first competitive game and we have no right back and no goalscorer. This for a club supposedly aiming for promotion. Now that's laughable.

 

We have scored 6 goals in three games pre season

 

No goalscorer? Based on what?
