Doesn't sound like the greatest replacement for Vaughan on paper, but 5 in 40 apps doesn't paint a true picture. Last season he had 26 apps and 11 goals in all competitions. Only started 5 times in L1 and scored 4, 13 sub apps in the league. In 19/20 in all competitions he scored a goal every 105 minutes he played. A great return at all for their 4th choice striker.

For reference, Vaughans 19/20 saw him play 35 times in all comps, scoring a goal every 215 minutes he played.

Interesting, maybe hes used as an impact sub? Bit of pace when defense is leggy perhaps! But what youve said has eased me. If Stuart is going for him there must be a reason for it!

Yeah from looks of things they had Matt Godden as the main man and played 1 up top. Biamou was behind Bakayoko & Hiwula in the pecking order.

He only completed 90 minutes twice in the league and scored in both games. Completed 90 mins in the EFL trophy against Southampton U23s and got a hat trick. Completed 90 twice in the FA cup too and scored 2. So in the full games he played for Cov last season, he scored every time. Just seems their manager started Godden if he was fit, regardless of form but Godden did score 14 in 22 starts for them last season, so made sense.

Usually agree with you but can't with Cullen, I thought the lad was a different level. Exactly what we need now.

I know it's purely hypothetical because we have no chance of either, but who would you rather have, Cullen or Lewis O'Brien. I ask the question because LOB's stock seems to be higher at the moment.

Cullen, because he controls games better (though O'B would be better at taking a game by the scruff of its neck)... Suppose it depends how you want to play. But what a pairing they'd be together!

It's a tough choice as both bring a lot to the table but I'd go with Cullen for his ability to allow others to play.

He hasn't missed the point, he knows the point about it being 3+3 signings, many people have made the same point to him, he just chooses to ignore it and pretend we signed 6 new players.

It’s six signings who were not our players DMH was released and both Cooke and O’Donnell had other options so it is in any way you look at it is six signings

You can't call O'Donnell and DMH new signings, even Clarke has literally been banging on the doors at VP for a job.

DMH was released he wasn’t our player and O’Donnell was a free agent but if you don’t want to count him it’s 5 then

Several people have told you it isnt and you know it. It just suits your rhetoric to argue its six signings but it isn't.

I am pretty certain DMH was released with a core agreement in place to bring him back when the time was right, you mention O'Donnell situation and Billy C is part of the fixtures and fittings here - the rhetoric in saying we have signed 6 new players doesn't really help as we all know the real situation. Its tough enough spreading positivity on here without playing semantics.
I would class Cooke as new as he wasn't our player last season together with Watt and Sutton

To put another spin on it - only Sutton, Watt and Clarke are players new to the squad that faltered last season.
DMH, Cooke and O’Donnell were here last season, so either way you look at it, we only have three new signings.

I like the idea of Clarke's footballing skills mixed with RO'D's stature combined with DMH's pace and age. Combined, he would be a very good signing
