Surely after what happened yesterday a) the result b) the injuries, Stuart has to be on the phone to Rupp asking when and how much he's going to allocate into reinforcing the squad. It's getting a bit stupid now the length of time it's dragging on. Players are out there looking for clubs, or looking to move. I'm not buying into Stuarts excuses for the Board. If we don't see any new bodies coming in next week, then I think that's it in terms of ambition. Only heading in one direction.

We need to be careful here. We don't want to be rushing to get another central defender in and then we're stuck with loads of defenders and no spaces in the squad or cap unless others are leaving. Fingers crossed Reece's injury isn't that bad.

Looking at yesterday when Stuart brought Finn on instead of Jackson it suggests he would like Jackson to go out on loan and he did mention something about loans/outgoings so we'll see but it's hard to think that with so many players available we'd be able to move players out that already have a contract with us.

 

Bit ambiguous that. 'Has funds available' could mean he has all of what's left of the cap available, or could mean he only has a percentage of it.

The £400k is the salary budget cap that is still available, inc signing on fees and bonuses etc.

 

It's going to be interesting to see how we line up against Stevenage, assuming Staunton isn't back in time and we don't bring in a defender. I don't even know what my defence would look like if I was Stuart, at least Sutton is finally available.
