    He's bloody stupid because all he had to do was make a legitimate attempt to play the ball and he would have got a yellow card and not red although it would still have been a penalty.

    Bloody guy is an idiot. Needs to learn the rules.

    Wow. So the ref sent him off for a professional foul and also awarded a penalty. The penalty was far easier a chance as he was on the far edge of the box. Obviously you must be able to still do both, but I thought for example if you saved a shot or fouled someone right in front of goal with a tap in

    Or WWF! To be fair to AOC, he was exposed for pace and we can all advise what he should have done but NONE of this actually relates to a match situation and the split second actions that players have to make. I saw it in slo mo and it looks shocking because he gets virtually everything wrong (positioning, reaction, speed, decision etc) but then you watch again in fast motion and it all happens in a couple of seconds.
    Out of interest does anyone know if their forward who won the bloody Oscar has been cited for his elbow, I take it the ref missed it as he took no action so the Disciplinary Panel can surely review?

    No. It depends on the offence which gave rise to the red card. A red card for violent conduct or for serious foul play inevitably results in a 3 match ban. Other offences such as ungentlemanly conduct, usually referred to as a professional foul or for preventing a goal scoring opportunity is usually a 1 match ban. A red card for dissent is 2 games as should be a red card for a dodgy haircut!
