This all sounds good to me, we most certainly need this kind of experience. We have massively missed this type of professional ever since Parky left.

 

10 years working for one of the biggest clubs in the country isn’t experienced enough for you??? I mean you’re just a wum aren’t you. You bang on about Park being a wum (which he is) but you’re equally as bad!

 

This is bang on the money... News was released an hour a go.. and everyone is now an expert

 

Worth the wait I would say, let's face it this guy can't be any worse than what we have had on the books of late and he definitely has the credentials

Reading this it reminds me of Jay from the Inbetweeners.

Looks like a good appointment - whether it be as a number 2 or as another voice with huge experience, sports science and also working with some of the best players in the premiership.

That’s like saying Eddie Howe was a poor appointment for Bournemouth as manager all those years ago, just cause he’d never done the job.

A number 2 needs to be whoever and whatever the manager wants. If Hopkin has brought him in as his number 2 as someone that can additionally offer his other skills experience and attributes then I would argue it is a good appointment. Only time will tell though

Let's face it. Whoever Hopkin appointed, Fordy would be unhappy with it for some spurious reason. Just to get a reply.

 

We call ourselves supporters of Bradford City so lets support this appointment . Seems a good choice to me.

His job title is irrelevant, not sure why people seem so bothered by it, it's his skill-set and what he can bring to the coaching setup that matter.

 

He must be immense at what he does if he was at spurs for a decade in this day and age. Probably went to US for an easier life but missed it?

As people have said and I stated earlier surprised he is number 2 as thought we would go old school bit of experience and nous of this level. However he has his uefa badges? So must know his stuff and will have no doubt picked up loads of ideas. Hopkin likes this high press style so it’s clear why he would want him. He’s a massive upgrade on abbott with all due respect to him.

Probably went to the US to expand his skills, worked for Brad Friedel who he possibly knew from Spurs. MLS season is over and wants a new challenge, maybe he has family considerations.
All speculation on my part BTW, but looks like an ambitous appointment.

 

My thoughts exactly here. The US move could stem from the fact he worked with Brad Friedel at Spurs? Just from reading the articles he seems to be a similar type to Nick Allamby who was an indispensable part of Parky's staff.

If this lad has an effect on the players like Allamby did then he will be a key appointment. Anything to stop these ridiculous injury farces that are rumbling on and on, Reeves, Jones, Scannell etc.

It does seem that Hopkin rates Drury so suspect he will be more of Hopkin's assistant with McElhone playing a key role as well.

 

Sounds decent to me. good experience, and well thought of by all accounts.

I don't care if he's the assistant, or the fitness coach or what he is. he's coming and he's helping out Hopkin. that'll do for me.
