Kiwomya strings football cliches together punctuated by ‘you know’. He’s clearly no football expert either. He groans into his microphone if City look like conceding and gasps if a goal for us might be about to be scored. In a word, he’s not very good.

Rowe too good for this side? So we expecting a queue around the block of teams wanting to sign him?

 

You'd think Rowe was some kind of Mbappe/Haaland hybrid the way some of our fans go on about him. The reality is that he's in his thirties, has mainly played non league and his big move was from one mid table league two team to another. There are probably many reasons why that's the case!

 

I like AK, passionate, funny, self deprecating, semi illiterate and obsessed with the temperature!
I love his squeaks squeals and demented penalty appeals, I love his weird new words like hedderering!
It’s bloody Jamie I can’t cope with, honestly I pay £45 a year for an audio pass, it’s not until you listen to his commentary along with pictures that you realise you have absolutely no clue as to what’s happening in the pitch or where the ball actually is!
Great interviewer, terrible commentator.

 

The biggest wind-up for me is constantly reminding us the stands are empty. 'and that deflects out of play into the empty Midland Road stand'. Yes we know they're empty, that's why we're listening to you.

 

I once interviewed someone who used ‘obviously’ 50-70 times in the space of roughly 20 minutes.

“Well obviously I think I’d be good for the role because I obviously have the experience and knowledge of the industry which obviously means I’d be a good fit”

By the 10th obviously there was no chance he was getting hired.

 

I actually think Kiwomya has improved recently, certainly since the end of last season.

 

it was literally pointless listening to the Pulse as the commentary hardly ever reflected what was happening in the game. Thornton was completely and utterly deluded and his bizzare, rose-tinted outlook left those unable to attend games woefully misinformed.

Radio Leeds might be dull, but atleast those tuning in aren't being mislead through fictitious commentary.

 

He tries to use big words and gets phrases and sayings wrong all the time. Sometimes its endearing and sometimes its infuriating as its simply nonsense.

I dont mind him but think it should be mixed with gary jones and some others. John dreyer is great on the radio.

 

Wayne Jacobs was superb when he was Radio Leeds summariser, he left to join Darren Moore at West Brom and Andy Kiwomya took over and has kept it since. Kiwomya is improving in my opinion and is passionate about City but does seem a bit nervous at times. Personally think Tim Steere is very good and gives a good balanced commentary.

 

Tim Steere didn't brush up on new regulations before the start of the season. Against Forest Green he couldn't understand why Vaughan was given offside in his own half and on Saturday was confused when the referee told a substituted player to leave the pitch at the nearest touchline.
Wayne Jacobs, John Dreyer and Gary Jones gave the listener a clearer perspective of tactics and formations than Andy K but he is improving.

 

Yes Richard Dunn, I took my daughters to watch Richards home coming on Mayo Avenue beautiful evening and he drove past in a big American car (Cadillac) ?.
Richard threw more leather and occasionally hit Ali during their 5 round contest than Joe Bugner did during his 15 round no contest, but in those day not many hit Ali to hurt him.
Back on topic Andy as most footballers is not the best with regards co-commentator but the few times I have listened he sounds to be improving.

 

My beef isn't with AK's knowledge of the game or the technical aspect. Much of what he says come across as informitive and intelligent and i'm certain he's a very nice chap. My real problem is with his monotone delivery. If we're winning or playing well i can just about accept the 'drone' but if we're losing...omg, i don't need anyone to tell me ''we're not playing well at the moment''. Several times i've found myself googling the Samaritans phone number. This is just my opinion. I'm sure someone will try to convince me i'm imagining it.

Kiwomya is improving every week
