Agree. He’s a City fan who gets over excited. He knows he’s not the best but just has a laugh. Maybe people shouldn’t take so seriously.

 

I enjoy Kiwomya's co-commentary, he hasn't the greatest command of the English language, however that doesn't detract away from why I enjoy hearing him.
He's funny, he's passionate, he's an ex pro that knows the game, and he's like having your mate sat next to you at VP, when he's had 6 pints haha!
Hope he's on the radio for some time yet.

Interesting - seriously? His voice is a dull monotone and the content of what he says is mostly bland football clichés or statements of the bleeding obvious. And almost every sentence starts with, "You know", which drives me to distraction. He occasionally comes out with a genuine insight that a non- professional might not have thought of, but it's rare and mostly lost amid the rest of the dross that comes out of his mouth.

I've nothing against the guy but, in my book, it's a basic requirement of being on a broadcast medium that you are at least vaguely articulate and he simply isn't. He shouldn't be anywhere near a regular radio microphone. Gary Jones, John Dreyer, Sticks, Jamie Lawrence, Matt Killgallon and Guy Branston are all ex players who've been used as expert summerisers in recent times and all knock AK into a cocked hat for their insights, delivery and enthusiasm.
It bad enough that we no longer have a choice of station and have to put up with the crackling and whistling on MW, without having to listen to Kiwomya's turgid drone and constant You Know's. It just shows where we are in the pecking order at Radio Leeds that we are fobbed off with this inarticulate mumbler. I cannot believe that he is the best they could come up with. I used to enjoy switching between Pulse and Radio Leeds on the way to and from games, to hear the views of various ex pros. I've virtually given up bothering now because AK's blatant unsuitability for broadcasting just winds me up.

And Gary Lineker has more presence, insight and articulation in his little finger than Andy Kiwomya.

I'll get off the fence now.

 

He had an absolute classic ramble yesterday.

Tim Steeringwheel asked him if he thought Donaldson and Novak were the same type of player. Kiwomya said "Well you know, no, they are similar, but they are not the same type of player. Neither are prolific goalscorers,you know, but they both hold the ball up well and are experienced. You need that in a team. I'm pretty sure Clayton is very happy to be playing with such a prolific player like Novak".

Half way through this ramble (just after the "they are similar, but not the same type of player") I was thinking, here we go, where is this going to end up.

To be honest, you know, I actually find him quite amusing to listen to, so I don't mind him at all.

But talking of "you know", have a listen how many times Stuart says "listen" in his interviews.

 

My favourite AK line this season so far is "The referee has to get the big decisions right 99% of the time. Or at least 70%"

Sean McCarthy was an excellent replacement for you know who on Saturday. There was less "messing about" and more incisive comments than in other matches this season.

 

He's 'reet' is AK, just wants the best for City. Not perfect and gives you a smile/laugh. Not as boring as some could be, I've heard worse from away commentators!

 

Andy is nowhere near as bad as some people make him out to be. He may not speak as fluently as some fans would like but he has grown into the job and as an ex player usually calls it right.
Too many people with an inflated view of themselves and their football knowledge, I have certainly been guilty of the latter in the past but I would like to think that I have always been prepared to eat humble pie when it has been deserved.

 

Art least AK has drastically cut down on the 'you knows'. That made him completely unlistenable for me and he's done well to rectify it.
Jamie and his 'headering' drives me nuts. Talk English man!

 

Sure he scored a winner for us away at Turf Moor, so happy to forgive his over use of, ‘you know’ for that alone!

 

Always remember an old Yorkshire post journalist who was a bit of a legend criticising a Sheff Utd manager. The manager said "What do you know you've never played the game". The journalist replied " It's true I've never played professional football, but I've also never baked a cake but I know the difference between a good one and a crap one".

 

On the other side of the coin, Kiwomya recognises the quality of Rowe who is too good for this side. T&S haven't figured out how to get the best out of him, yet.

 

I like him !!

 

And to think people complained about The Pulse, saying Radio Leeds was superior. Well you all got what you wanted!

 

He gave out a mighty YeeeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaaaaa after we scored today.
