Andy is nowhere near as bad as some people make him out to be. He may not speak as fluently as some fans would like but he has grown into the job and as an ex player usually calls it right.
Too many people with an inflated view of themselves and their football knowledge, I have certainly been guilty of the latter in the past but I would like to think that I have always been prepared to eat humble pie when it has been deserved.

It's hard to fit him into a structured formation which is probably why he was at AFC Fylde for so long. At that level they could give a free role.
At this level his lack of pace and workrate let him down.
At his age it would be hard to justify building a team around him, so I think he will be on his way before his contract is up.

TOP commentators describe them as "woodwork" and they haven't been made of wood for decades, so you're getting a bit picky there mate.

I enjoy Kiwomya's co-commentary, he hasn't the greatest command of the English language, however that doesn't detract away from why I enjoy hearing him.
He's funny, he's passionate, he's an ex pro that knows the game, and he's like having your mate sat next to you at VP, when he's had 6 pints haha!
Hope he's on the radio for some time yet.

I prefer him to others I’ve heard, don’t get me wrong he talks crap but they’re local radio commentators. He makes me laugh at the crap he says so he’ll do for me, don’t take him to seriously in these times we could all do with some light hearted laugher.

He does actually make some fair points tbf even if he doesn’t make sense half the time, our intensity is shocking as he keeps pointing out, just wish our managers would as well.

I just cannot listen to the man. He's the worst I've ever heard. He certainly isn't funny, he's beyond dire as a co-commentator. The memories of that dull monotone voice and lack of command of the English language still sends shivers down my spine.

I like AK, passionate, funny, self deprecating, semi illiterate and obsessed with the temperature!
I love his squeaks squeals and demented penalty appeals, I love his weird new words like hedderering!
It’s bloody Jamie I can’t cope with, honestly I pay £45 a year for an audio pass, it’s not until you listen to his commentary along with pictures that you realise you have absolutely no clue as to what’s happening in the pitch or where the ball actually is!
    Great interviewer, terrible commentator.

The highlight of the McCall era was how Jamie used to get under his skin in the post match interview. I used to duck the commentary ( because of you know who!) but tune in post match to listen to Jamie provoking Stuart.

Jamie is brilliant at post match interviewing, he used to put Stuart right in his box, Paxman was great at interviewing, I wouldn’t want him doing the City match commentary tho!
Sorry, in homage to AK commentarying

I think the problem both have is that they are commentating for radio listeners not for ifollow viewers. Therefore they have to keep talking and there can be no quiet periods as there normally is when the commentator(s) are relating events to viewers. As has been said above, AK has his idiosyncrasses (sp) but various things he comes out with have a ring of truth about them eg the warm up pre-kick off; ROD commanding his area etc.

I prefer AK over Jamie. I just stand the constant clichés and his actual knowledge on the club is minimal. I'm convinced he sits there with a football thesaurus. Saying that the pair of them are an upgrade on the screaming Jason Thornton who was truly terrible.

Art least AK has drastically cut down on the 'you knows'. That made him completely unlistenable for me and he's done well to rectify it.
Jamie and his 'headering' drives me nuts. Talk English man!

I enjoy listening to Andy actually, love his enthusiasm for our club, okay, he might not be the most articulate, but doesn't stop me enjoying his co-commentary.

As others have said, Jamie is a far better interviewer than commentator. The one thing that constantly winds me up with Jamie is referring to the O'Connors and Clarke as the 'Irishman' quite often each game. There is absolutely no need for that, he doesn't refer the other players as 'Englishman'

We could do with AK in the changing room before a game to gee up the players. However, the biggest dullard at the club is Ryan Sparks, who for a young man learning his trade on site is very boring indeed.

I've watched most of the games rather than listening to them on the radio/ifollow recently but I'd still maintain at times that they do a poor job at times for radio commentary. If I wasn't watching the pictures at times I'd think play had stopped or they were in the other half of the pitch! The commentator really doesn't do a good job of explaining where the ball is on the pitch at times.

The biggest wind-up for me is constantly reminding us the stands are empty. 'and that deflects out of play into the empty Midland Road stand'. Yes we know they're empty, that's why we're listening to you.

That is my only bug bear with the commentary these days. I watch the football for two hours where I don't have to think about the bloody virus

Jamie likes to talk about his domestic life such as choosing wallpaper and "er indoors" remarks. It's the transition from boy to man and trying to fit it. Sparks is similar with his hints that he could be working elsewhere but he's" interested in the challenge" etc. It's youth masking over inexperience with a chat down the pub routine. These two are crazy dudes!
