Going o/t but Neville was never really going to succeed at Valencia. Moving to a country where you don't know the lingo to manage a top flight club as a rooky manager was always a massive ask.
He'd have been better cutting his managerial teeth at Salford.

 

My beef isn't with AK's knowledge of the game or the technical aspect. Much of what he says come across as informitive and intelligent and i'm certain he's a very nice chap. My real problem is with his monotone delivery. If we're winning or playing well i can just about accept the 'drone' but if we're losing...omg, i don't need anyone to tell me ''we're not playing well at the moment''. Several times i've found myself googling the Samaritans phone number. This is just my opinion. I'm sure someone will try to convince me i'm imagining it.

 

He gave out a mighty YeeeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaaaaa after we scored today.

Love the kiwomya'isms lads, keep it up! My personal favourite is when asked 1-0 down, 1 all or 1 up what city need to do it's 'well... Err you know... Manage the game'. Still trying to work out what he means. For those saying he has great insight being an ex player, you may be right but he completely fails to articulate and convey this insight. Gary Jones on the other hand is critical, is able to paint a picture for the radio listener of what's happening and can construct a sentence. Why isn't he on more often?

Asked if he thought Vaughan and Donaldson should be contributing more he said the service to them both should be better!!!
Is he a relation to either of them or just fecking blind!!

 

Vaughan had two great chances last week against Carlisle that he headed straight at the keeper, i think it was a cross from Wood and Connolly, which lead to Donaldsons disallowed effort and him hitting the bar. Both of them have had chances, Wood also put another cracking cross over on Saturday which neither of them were anywher near to . Its not like they arwn’t getting the chances, they’re just not converting them.

Out of interest what does playing a game at a far higher level mean in terms of being able to commentate? John Motson didn't. Some of our supporters watch us home and away and still sound like they don't have a clue about men's footy. Personally I think Michelle Owen is excellent. Interesting article on womens footy the other day that the real probelms with womens footy starts around 12-14 which is when males start being males and prejudices start and thats when women get turned away from playing
