Andy Todd, Stefan Rupp & City's Financial Position

Point is though mate that someone will always buy a football club and certainly us.

Sunderland are up for sale or the owner is selling some.

Bradford City needs to improve its communication and I would rather Mr Rupp do what the Sunderland owner is doing if he can't afford to run a club like ours that won't lack ambition from fans to get promoted.

 

The club really aren't helping themselves with all the mixed messages that are coming out at the moment. Last week the message was that next year's budget would not only be competitive but would be a top 3 budget for league 2, this week Bowyer is telling us how difficult it is going to be competing with the likes of Fylde FC!
Bowyer supposedly had players lined up a few weeks ago that were so desperate to come here that his phone was ringing off the hook! Now things are not being painted as being so rosey and it all feels like dejavu.
When you also have Bowyer stating that Todd's departure is because we are 'a victim of circumstance', I don't see how else that could possibly be read other than it's a financial decision, unless Todd just doesn't have the stomach for league 2 and if that's the reason, the club should be open about it and say so. The fact that it's all coded messages only strengthens the belief many have that it is a cost cutting exercise and nothing more.

 

I’ve not looked into Flyde or their owner. Has he been pumping cash in like Salford have? Or is it an organically growing club?

If it is the second and we can not compete then we are fecked. If it is the first then fair enough

 

I'm sure you are right, but would we be any better off if Rupp "went" (and I'm not sure commercially how he would structure that), and we found new owners from somewhere, but they have neither the will nor the financial ability to invest heavily in the club. As you say someone will always buy a football club, but it doesn't mean we would be any better off.

 

True but at this minute not many could do worse than Mr Rupp.

Rhodes and Lawn say they sold the club to Edin and Rupp as they were financially better off and could take the club to the next level well that was a joke!

However, out of 92 football league clubs they're 90% good owners. We fall in the 10%

 

You see I only want to hear from the man.


I want to hear his plans, the expectations moving forward. If he is moves on.... Good. But only when the sale is right, not just for the sake of making noises.

I have said it before and I blame Rupp equally for the mess we are in. At the same time, I had and still don't object to as an investor, Rupp making money from this 'project', though I struggle to understand how he will now!!!

But a sale has to be right for Bradford City foremost, whenever it happens and it will. Enough instability is present at Bradford City, we hopefully don't increase that instability.

 

Agree Petrov, todays T&A article is depressing and sadly sounds like something we have heard all too often - dejavu indeed! The club never seems to learns on these 'vague' messages that come out and the potential damage it causes in fans trying to find some re-connection after our 'annus horribilis'. But no more comment today from me, it is for something far more important in our clubs history and all my thoughts are directed to this

We are like mushrooms kept in the dark and occasionally fed you know what
Mr Ackroyd said in one of his posts that due to the sensitivity of the memorial the great Beer Festival announcement was delayed
Instead as you correctly say they announce the departure of 2 of GB recruitments and also we are in the shadow of a National League side (AFC FLYDE)
We should have been treated to rallying cries of how we are going to walk the league and give the fans some confidence
I really wonder sometimes whether the connection between fans and club can ever be repaired
Mr Rahic has gone and very little has changed

 

Salford have ambitious, rich, football people behind them. We have a German not interested one bit in the city of Bradford or football and a right hand man who is a perennial failure. Bradford in a nutshell.

 

Mr Rupp is still there.. wasn't he the man with the money.

At this moment it only feels like 50% of the problem left in November. Nothing has changed since then in fact it's got worse.

I agree the respect that as to be shown regarding the fire. Especially as one who did suffer. Lets hope over the next few weeks we can see an uplift and bring some joy it something we all are dedicated to.

@Jason McKeown your source is embarrassing you at the minute and if it is Mr Rhodes or an insider then maybe you an honest conversation with them.

You seem like a top bloke but as I said earlier can anyone really believe what comes out of the club at the minute apart from what Bowyer says because Rupp isn't saying much.

Bradford City is in trouble if we can't compete this the dosh in Div 2 and a few non league clubs. Would you agree?

 

There has been communication on this forum concerning plans for;

• The new kit launch
• Fans forum event
• An open day event at the club

There is also the open minutes from the Supporters club confirming that we'll be sending the manager and players to local supporters clubs.

Dates for these cannot be released ahead of time for a variety of reasons.

All will happen in June and July. And fans will be notified well in advance when the dates are ready to be confirmed.

 

No disrespect Glenn but I think you are completely missing the point Onside is making.
