so on his last 3 games you would continue to play him ???? he’s been very poor but if you insist on playing with 10 men then so be it ..............We have a SQUAD with Strikers in it so why not change it ?????

 

he’s offered nothing for the last 3 games ......... when the team needs to play the odd long ball what happens when it goes to him ???? Nothing it bounces off him allowing the oppo team to gain possession again ........... least Oliver will hold the ball up or win an header allowing us to push on .......... I seriously hope he’s get an hat trick next week to prove me wrong but the stats don’t lie and over the last 3 games he’s done very little at all except getting bullied by centre halves

 

That's a bit selective, why are you not basing it on our season so far.............because if you did there is nothing to discuss support your opinion,14 appearances 12 goal, I say most teams in league two would be more than happy to have a striker with those stats 12 games into a new season.

Wright went past their full back with ease in the first 5 minutes to create the chance that resulted in Chapman hitting the bar(when I think he should have scored).
After this I can’t really remember him doing it again with any great purpose and then Hughes switched him and Pereira over for some reason in the first half.

If you play Cook up front by himself at home then no way can you afford to have one of our most creative attacking players like Pereira only touch the ball once or twice in the first 15 minutes and barely 5 or 6 times in 45 minutes.

I think everybody knew we’d miss Walker.
I don’t think any of us realised just how much.

 

Like I said I will hold my hands up if he bounces back next week but he’s clearly not doing anything at the moment ........... so why not give the others a run of games ????? Or is our entire season based on Andy Cook ???? If it then I cannot see us doing much ......... he was always gonna drop off and that’s the time when you do start rotating the squad

 

think we shouldn’t just be relying on Walker to come in and sort it out ............. we could be into Xmas before he’s up to speed a lot of games between then hopefully we stay in touch till then

 

Helping us? It's his goals that see us as high as we are in table? Or do we just discount the goals he's scored.

 

I didn't know you can tell the future, are you into reading tea leaves as you don't know that as fact its just your opinion to try and support your argument, have a look at this and give your head a good shake :
You keep going on about his overall performance just what does that mean as I see him tackle back, defend fee kicks and corners chases players down and makes a general nuisance of himself when not sticking the ball in the oppositions goal.
You seem to be unaware or refuse to accept that Cooks main contribution to the side is putting the ball in the back of the net which he has done consistently since coming on as a sub against Barrow, Oliver had the shirt for the Doncaster and Barrow games and showed little obviously not impressing Hughes hence Oliver has only figured once in the starting 11 against Colchester, don't you see a pattern emerging here, Cook scores and gets the shirt Oliver doesn't and warms the bench.
I don't think Mark Hughes will be coming to you Fordy with for tips regarding strikers or football in general as you offer little with regards the game.

 

But that's not what the original debate is about is it, you're the one commenting Cook has only scored 1 in the last three games not accepting the goals Cook has scored so far this season, Cook scoring record has only been bettered by Sam Hoskins at Northampton who has not scored for 4 games his last goal by the way his last goal being against Stockport County on 24th September
All strikers go through lean patches in that case the manager has two choices he continues playing Cook through his bad patch and hopes Cook plays himself back into goal scoring form or Hughes replace Cook with a Oliver/Harratt/Angol believing Cooks replacement will take their chance and score goals.
With regards your highlighted question I'd be delighted if Cook scores 12 more goals in 17 appearances that would give him stats of 24 goals in 29 appearances, any Bradford City fan who turned their noses up at those kind of stats needs to watch another sport

I know how many goals he’s scored but for me they will dry up and he will find himself on the bench very soon.

 

no I just base it on what has gone on over the last few games thanks and that we do have other options in there ..................and I’m on about if he’s still stuck on 12 goals in a few games time ..............we either change him or we actually go after teams to create things .......... if we are gonna carry on down this route of creating very little then Andy cook is wasted in that side.......... he’s a fox in the box but we simply ain’t using him

 

Right. Just to get this clear. We have a lad who is scoring at a goal every 87minutes he's on the field. He hasn't scored from open play in the last three but then hasn't had one realistic chance to score set up for him. Remember, we aren't talking about Haaland here. We are talking about a league 2 striker who is currently deadly in the area if the chances come. Ill reiterate, Andy Cook currently is not a problem for Bradford City. We have way more pressing problems than one of the highest goalscorers in the country

 

think a few need to realise that he may need a spell on the bench to get him going again ............. so folk think we want him to fail to prove a point ???? I hope if he does start on Saturday he scores a hattrick to prove me wrong ........... but we are creating fook all at the moment so it actually may help if Oliver come in and gives us another dimension

 

Based on yesterday’s performance he is a massive problem.

Their defence didn’t have to move all game. Cook offered nothing.
