Anderson - new deal

Just hope bowyers seen something most of us haven't.

 

He’d have been foolish imo too turn it down, let’s hope it’s a bit of a Will Atkinson situation.

 

Very disappointed with this. Its going to take a miracle plus Anderson going on a diet to make this the correct decision.

 

Suppose some bad news had to come along eventually after last weeks positivity.

 

We’ll be fine - it doesn’t look like we’ll be using a midfield next season.

 

Could be good . Good preseason and fully fit we might just have a decent player here for me he started to show a bit in the last few games as his fitness started improving.

 

I agree with this. He had a few games where he couldn’t trap a bag of cement, but the last few games he improved.

Still needs to improve going into next season though to have an impact.

His fitness will have been an issue last season as he didn’t play much before he came to us, so effectively he had to have another preseason bedding in the first 4-5 weeks (where some of his performances were dreadful granted) but after that he didn’t look too bad. However by that point people had already formed their opinion of him so he was on a hiding to nothing really.

 

Only saw him at home to Blackpool, don't want to slag him off but he played like a man with zero confidence. Nothing he did worked, passes were awful. Yet strangely, I believe it was almost all down to lack of confidence and not lack of ability. We will see.

 

I didn’t think he was good enough in league 1 never mind league 2, but that’s just my opinion

Never know, could be a decent player with some regular first team football

 

Central midfield remains our weakest area so far

 

We need Jacob butterfield on a perm deal

I'd like him back but we still need a defensive midfielder because akpan is not disciplined enough to play that role.

 

Not sure he can be judged on last season tbh. His confidence looked shot and does need a proper pre-season before we can decide if he is good enough. He should have enough at League 2 level but I'm a bit worried if he's going to be starting games in centre midfield.

Agree, I think he looked like he was running into a bit of form last few matches. Good pre season and we might well have a decent player.

 

Pleased about this I think he was judged on his first couple of matches as we played more matches he got much better and finished the season strongly

 

I for one am glad he has signed a deal in his younger days he was tipped for big things at arsenal.
Maybe it was confidence or unfit why he didn’t perform get a good pre season and a bit of confidence and we could have a whole new player

 

Same as I posted about Anderson in another thread and this will probably get quoted when he fails miserably but I believe he will come good. Never played below league one and had a lot of interest around him from big clubs a few years ago.

The lads had two very unfortunate serious injuries, if he can get a bit of fitness behind him I think he could come good.

 

‘Needs a good preseason’ however did we excuse crap players before Aaron McLean properly claimed that sentence.
