I’ll quantify this. I do not know every single Bradford City fan that listens to the pulse for its matchday commentary. Of the ones that i know that do the general concensus is that the commentary doesn’t relate to the accuracy of what is going on out on the pitch. Doesn’t seem to happen when Jason Thornton is commentating on his own, where i find him a good listen, more so when he has a co commentator. This of course is my own view.

 

Jason Thornton is awful. He gets that over excited when Bradford get anywhere near within shooting distance, that you cant hear a word of what hes saying because he is screaming like an excited 12 year old.

 

To be fair, we get within shooting distance so rarely these days, I think we all feel like excited 12 year olds when it happens.

 

Unless he only contested one, I reckon you're wrong.

I didn't miss his comical attempt at a shot when he tripped over his own feet and bobbled the ball 3 yards to his left.

I wonder if he could hear the laughing from the stands?

 

Ballsy? Of a professional footballer, a striker, to take a penalty, at home and against non league opposition, with less than 15% of the regular crowd watching?

Yeah the pulse sport coverage is awful. you have more idea whats going on in the game by watching soccer saturday for the odd time they go to the person at the game, or mention it.

you'd be forgiven for thinking Bradford City play like Barcelona on a regular basis, and you can easily mistake winning a throw in or a corner to a goal the way the commentators react. oh and, if we don't play well, you can pretty much guarentee Pulse will think its the referees fault.

Come on you can't have it both ways. Half the board say he shouldn't be a professional footballer let alone a striker and seem to just watch for his mistakes, so yes I thought he was ballsy

 

but HE IS a professional footballer, and a striker, and was playing in the game. when it goes to a shoot out you can damn well sure I expect him to bloody step up.

but all you ever say is how shite he is so why would you expect him to do......surely there were 10 better players in front of him to take penalties???

 

I don't mind the Pulse. Once you've listened to it for long enough you sort of figure out what certain phrases mean.

"City are playing well"- We've not embarrassed ourselves and have probably put in an average 5/10 performance

"A 50/50 contest at the moment"- We're being outplayed, comfortably.

"We need a bit more from the players"- We've been beyond dreadful.

It was O'Connor, he corrected himself later in the commentary.

 

You’re actually right. He gives 100%. He should never in a million years be playing at this level, but that’s not his fault. We know who’s fault it is.

 

You've forgot:

'He was an absolute mile offside' - He was 2 yards onside.

'The ref has given us nothing' - that's because we deserved nothing.

mckeown is atrocious as a co-commentator - more twists and turns than spaghetti junction. i've never heard a 'commentator' contradiction themselves so much.

 

Shots forum:

Being brutally honest, I think a lot of National League sides would have seen off Bradford. Don’t forget we have the worst away record in the division with zero threat going forward and we nearly got something. Opportunity missed again. Harsh but true.

On the penalties I thought our penalties were fairly well places although at a perfect height for the keeper. If Mannion had stood still he would have saved there’s. Bradford’s weren’t great.
