Oliver for me , for all this he leads the line, does he actually have an assist, has he flicked the ball on like a Hanson to Wells type scenario. I can not think of any and his goal return 3 league goals in 20 appearances, although a few as sub is dreadful
Cook was on the pitch for exactly 1 minute when he provided the assist fir Eisa's wining goal against Salford

 

In a nutshell, be probably agree they are L2 centre forwards, that’s it.

 

You are quite correct, they are both lower league strikers, but in my opinion 1 has performed more consistently than the other
So probably needs to be cut a bit more slack, The other who was brought in to replace him, needs to up his game, like quite a few of our players. who are currently under performing.

 

to get flick ons etc there must be decent balls coming into the box ......... so we really put decent crosses in ?????

still keep pulling the forwards to bits you could have the best striker in the league down there and he would struggle to get goals .......... we hardly create anything yet we expect these forwards to have loads of goals ............. maybe Cook missing a few chances was down to pressure of having to score because we don’t create chance after chance ........... I wouldn’t mind if we where creating chances and the striker where missing them but we create the odd chance and whoever misses it is pulled to bits over it ................it about time the rest stepped up and started contributing in either goals or creating chances and sadly that simply ain’t happening ........... I mean apart from the Salford game how many clear cut chances have we created in the two games either side of that ????
I will be amazed if it over 10 and that over 4 games really is piss poor but hey somehow our strikers are to blame

 

Yes we need goals from all parts of the team, and more creativity, something lacking all season. That is why i said in an earlier post i was amazed Cook had 16 goals this season. The lad has done well in a team that lacks creativity and deserved a bit of slack for missing a few chances at Carlisle. It does appear that Mr Hughes does not like Andy and his hand has been forced by his goal return.

 

Yes totally agree. Most teams can cope with one or two off form, but we seem to have several all at the same time. Even Gilly seemed off it yesterday and I normally don’t have a pop because his work rate is excellent. Weak areas I think we are familiar with , centre of midfield, 1 perhaps 2 and a left back are crying out for fresh blood absolutely nailed on!

 

I guessed as much. It looks hemmed in for sure ,but it absolutely serves their needs.

Think the Carlisle game is another big one ..........we win that and we could be within striking distance of Northampton who are in very bad form at the moment ........... but do these players really have the stomach for the battle ????? Honestly at some point they have to stand up and start wanting it because if they produce another Rochdale type performance then it could start turning nasty
