It just gives him another excuse not to attend. All mouth and no trousers. He’ll soon be on here, after the forum complaining about what was and wasn’t said, even though the invite is there for him to attend.

No we’ll only recover as a club when Rupp goes. As the other 7 managers before Adams have proved it’s pretty insurmountable changing managers every 6 months.

 

It might be dreadful to watch but it's one defeat in six matches since the end of November. Derek Adams proved himself at Morecambe and he hasn't turned into a bad manager in six months. It would be a terrible mistake not to stick with him.

It's irrelevant what Adams did at Morecambe. It's the "here and now" that matters and, in that regard, he's failing.

We all know that stability is important but, in any business, if you've made a mistake, the quicker that you identify and remedy it, the sooner you move forward.

The job appears to be too big for him and, if it was my decision, he'd have been gone weeks ago.

 

Have to agree. I don't think he's a bad manager, but he is out of his depth. I want stability as much as anyone, and wouldn't sack him now, but if (as expected) he fails to take us up this season, I would part the ways in May.

 

Poor results and performances, no plan B, continually picks under performing players, buries youth/players who did well publicly, lives in denial, not exactly engaging or charming, boring football.
I’m inclined to give him to the end of the season but I’m very close to the end of my tether and we risk missing out on someone like Flynn who ticks quite a few of the adams like boxes but also plays decent football to watch

 

God I hope if we change managers it isn’t Flynn, I’m already unlikely to renew next season that’ll confirm it for me. Many Newport fans were happy to see him leave in the end and he played Telford poorly now look how well he’s doing. Don’t agree he plays good football, fair enough last season at VP they played us off the park when we were heading towards the relegation zone. But season before he played the worst defensive football I’ve ever seen at VP and that includes Bowyer teams, last season in Cardiff his side were awful to watch as well. Is this how low we’ve sunk Newport’s cast offs?

Paul Cook would be the only manager that would give me the enthusiasm to renew next season, or Rupp selling up.

 

I belive giving Adams a 3 year contract suggests it was always a gamble to quote promotion in his first season, although his passed managerial record showed he was quite capable of delivering on it.
His comments a few months ago with regards him knowing what has gone on at our club for years didn't take him long to get rid of Lee Turnbull the very man Ryan had brought in to give the club stability/direction with regards recruitment going forward, it was not the way Adams works and it suprised me that Ryan had gone for someone he knew recruited in a different manner.
Like it or not I can't see Adams being sacked or walking with less that a season under his belt its not been anywhere like good enough or what most genuine Bradord City fans expected, we had no choice but to be patient during Phil Parkinsons first season deep down we all knew things had to change I believe the same applies now with Adams.
