I'm going to email Ryan Sparks and Mick Lamb tomorrow.

 

The same is happening to those fans who sit in seats in the EXJ. You can’t sit in them without the add on suite access. So although it states the increase is for the suites it amounts to a seat price increase. We went up there for the space and the view. It is also nice to have better toilet facilities.

 

The thing that upsets me most is the total lack of communication, more so in how the club operates. You provide a vacuum and people will fill it and can make accusations, etc that others read and these can affect their thinking. Saying something has to be better than saying nothing. It also shows a bit of a disregard to loyal supporters and that doesn’t sit right. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll buy the ticket and realise it is a much cheaper price than many, many football fans pay, but showing a bit of respect never goes amiss.

 

No. I paid by cheque, so I got nothing back. So, as far as I'm concerned, I'm still paying £100 per season on top of whatever the current price is.

 

I bought mine purely for financial gain.
At the time of purchase a season ticket cost £330 so even not accounting for inflation it would have cost £8250 over 25 years. It was my thinking that today a season ticket might well be £500-600. Lol.
But anyway I paid £2250 on my credit card and I received some refund but not all from my bank.

 

£200 minus £80 is £120 which is exactly what we paid last season.

Also I think the first administration in 2002 honoured the 25 year season tickets it was the second one in 2004 that didn’t. Therefore we got 3 seasons out of it without paying extra 2001/02, 2002/03 and 2003/04.

 

It is sickening how MY club are forcing me into a corner to buy an unwanted suite after nearly 60 years of following the club and playing for them for 4 years.

 

The suites are already rammed and up to the limit according to Mick Lamb. You couldn’t possibly accommodate all ST holders in them.

 

Pretty much every away ground I’ve visited this season has some kind of club bar next to the stadium where home and away fans are welcome and generally it’s free to enter.
We are way way behind on that score. I’d hate to be an away fan coming to VP as there’s sod all to do around the stadium.

 

And I’ve had something very similar. Written back. See if I get anywhere but doubt it. It’s really disappointing. Like a few have said sounds like a Govt statement following a question that doesn’t even address the question. Leaves a sour taste.

 

I don't have a 25 year season ticket so no axe to grind but it does seem like the club are really sending out mixed messages and don't know how much they are pissing people off......

They are clearly contradicting themselves.

It says paying for a season ticket and a 'FREE' suite upgrade.

Then you have the Head of Ticketing, Marco Townson, saying something completely different:

"As you may know, the price of the suite upgrade has been £120 for several years, which is also reflective of the offer the club made to 25 year-season ticket holders.

However, due to rising costs of energy, maintenance, and other security and operational expenses, we have taken the decision to increase the price to £180 per season, starting from next season. This increase will also allow us to invest in the suites, and as a result, improve their standard – while supporting our move to freeze season ticket prices for the third-consecutive season, providing the second-cheapest season ticket in the EFL."

As they have publicly stated it's a FREE upgrade on the website I'm not sure where they stand against the Trades Description Act? False advertising?

If they want rid of the 25 yearers, surely sit down with them and say we're going to make you an offer, here's £X for the remainder and it's finished....especially if turnover exceeds £8 million, a drop in the ocean....

 

They are all FU replies whether from RS or his hoppo.

 

The chairman of the supporters board has promised to raise questions about this at their next meeting.

 

Thanks for this and it’s great to have somebody who understands the injustice of all this on the supporters board, especially for Midland Roaders, (although it also affects those in suites). I hope RS is really challenged and doesn’t waffle about how much commercial money he’s raised, an ex premiership manager, suites upgrades (at our cost) blah blah blah without answering the tough questions.

I'd already renewed mine (Midland Rd) on the direct debit so I've emailed Mick Lamb to see if my direct debit will be adjusted accordingly. I'll let you know what he says.

 

I think it is a good deal when it is interest free.

5. 25 Year Season Ticket Holders – Update

Discussion had taken place between Tony Bates (Chairperson) and Ryan Sparks in response to numerous contacts from supporters regarding the cost of 25 Year Season Tickets being linked to the cost of 2023/24 Suites Pass.

The Club had taken cognisance and had announced earlier in the week that 25 Year Season Ticket holders who did not wish to have Suite facilities would be able to renew for £150. This decision was welcomed by the Supporters Board and is another positive sign of the club listening to feedback from both supporters and the Supporters Board.
