25 Year 'Season Tickets' (Now with Suites Poll)

That surprises me. For a couple of seasons in the noughties I used the Bantams Bar but had to sit in the enclosure.

 

That’s correct, I sit in the upper Kop and have received a BB pass each season since it was offered.
Seems now I won’t be able to do that anymore.

 

Or move into one of the bar areas

 

What I don't understand is this - if the suites are so rammed that they are having to limit access to only those in certain areas, why are they struggling to be profitable? It seems the club is trying to make 25 yearers pay extra to subsidise their failing bars.

 

As stated above, there’s no seats left in BB and I don’t want to sit in upper sunwin.
So I have to accept paying £60 more for something less.
This club really do know how to look after their long term supporters don’t they

 

Because too many people I see in there take up tables and keep warm but don’t buy a single thing.
Or they buy half a coke and make it last 2 hours.

 

Interesting. I wonder if that's anything to do with the way they are marketed, ie as 'suites' rather than bars. When I go into club bars at away grounds (eg Stevenage recently) I see long queues for the bar and lots of people sitting eating and drinking, sometimes lining up pints on the table to get down them before kick off.

 

One area we are still quite a way behind in the sporting entertainment world is the hospitality. We arent the only club and the location doesn't help but the ' game day experience' dictates that most folk don't turn up to the ground until about ten to three.

 

But other clubs seem to manage to run popular, welcoming bars at their grounds and sell plenty of food and drink in them.

Pretty much every away ground I’ve visited this season has some kind of club bar next to the stadium where home and away fans are welcome and generally it’s free to enter.
We are way way behind on that score. I’d hate to be an away fan coming to VP as there’s sod all to do around the stadium.

I think one of our problems is that we have bars everywhere in the ground rather than just one place, or a couple of places. So in the suites alone I can think of four bars, so that is four sets of staff etc and that is just Sunwin, then the Bantams Bar so that is 5. Then there are the bars on all the concourses.

 

not been to many away matches recently but do those grounds all sell beer etc in the stands and on the concourses too, or just in those club bars?

 

Fair enough, hadn’t seen that before. In that case you are screwed. Maybe email the ticket bloke and ask him for a solution to the problem they have created

And, apart perhaps from the Bantams Bar, none of them have a pub-type ambience that would encourage those who like a few drinks before a game to spend much money there. TBH it always amazes me that they sell any beer at all in the Sunwin concourse. I can't imagine why anyone would want to stand around drinking beer from plastic cups in a cold, cheerless concrete aircraft hanger.

 

And some people think the choice of beer isn’t good enough and so choose to drink down North Parade thus depriving the club of income
