    Don't lecture me.

I'm fuming at the nerve of these failures and charlatans.

This is not something I take lightly so stick your attitude up your backside. We've been going as a family for decades.

    I love this phrase ..

"we are able to continue efficiently managing club finances and maintain a self-sustaining yet ambitious playing budget",

It's meaningless. Go on then Ryan, tell us how much the 'ambitious' playing budget has been over the last 4 four years and what you estimate it to be for next season. The overhead costs etc of the club are not unimportant but how much the policing costs are matters very little to me. What's far more important is how much you intend putting into the 'ambitious' playing budget compared to what you've done recently. That has far more impact on what might happen on the pitch than how much the club has to pay for its police officers or its stewards or its leccie bill. And what might happen on the pitch has more impact on whether fans renew or not compared with how long the floodlights are on for.

Some have alluded to a "slight" price increase. It's not really on anyone else to allude to what is determined by slight.

I have two adults and a young person to buy , I'm not 100% but I think they have gone up by £50 each, so £150 in total. That's not slight, and regardless of the cheap base rate it's still 25% increase per ticket.

I can afford that, yet others may not be able to. Whether I'm minded to pay that is a different argument.

Would you spend 150 more on a product that is essentially inferior to the one you already had? Last year I paid to £199 to watch a team that had just finished 7th, should I pay £249 to watch a team that finishes 15th?

They have to be real careful here, as someone mentioned earlier in the thread, it's clear that the fans income keeps this club running.

We are sustainable, so there is no pot in the background to dip into.

The extra income from fans is need to cover increased overheads, why? Commercial income is at a record high, what is this supporting exactly?

Any funds left over will go towards an ambitious budget. What is an ambitious budget? I made a comment in a thread on Wednesday, we've gone from the highest budget, to a top 3 budget, then a top 7 budget and now an ambitious budget. I'd say an ambitious budget is more an ambiguous budget in reality.

So in theory they are asking you to pay more, for a team costing less.

Sparks and Rupp are taking this club to the dogs.

It will probably kill me come may when I haven't renewed , and the full price is above what I can afford.

It will dawn on me that after 30 odd years I won't be going no more, and most likely that will be that, but truth be told going to games this season and last has got harder. There isn't the motivation to go no more. Even if I was going on my own, I'd go because it was somewhere I could disappear for 90 mins and not worry about anything else going on in life, it was my place, but now the games are that dull I drift off in games, indeed thinking about work or home!

It's not just the price for me, although that will ultimately tip my mind. Price, product, pillock in charge, and a club with no true aim or ethos is why I'm out.

£2 a game increase is nigh here or there for me. At £11 a game , it's still good value to watch a football game

I think the club already know why a lot of long standing fans won't be renewing which isn't to do with a slight price increase its down to negativity, mediocrity and total lack of ambition coming out of the club expecting us to pay more (however much) to effectively balance the books (keep us sustainable) and offer no words of encouragement no words of how next season will be better nothing at all except that's the price that's what we are spending it on especially after the season we are having @JonButterfield@JonButterfield is right to be angry sadly he's not alone

I want to see the change in the club before I commit. Sparks is still there, Rupp is still there, Gent is still there. Bringing Sharpe in doesn't give the others a free pass.

The club wind me up at times as much as the next person and I’m equally disappointed how the football has panned out of late but jeez there’s some unnecessary moaning in this thread

Andy, I don't doubt for a minute that the rise in minimum wage will have a big impact on small businesses such as yourself. But for the club to be crying poverty because they're going to have to pay Sandra in admin an extra 60 quid a month when we've got players on thousands of pounds a week not even making the match day squad? Do me a favour.

Not sure why I put myself through this yet again but renew done. Currently feel like the bloke who's handed over £250 to the scam auctioneer who's promised me a time share in Puerto Banus but then find out the keys are to bedsit in West Bowling.

Whatever anyone may or may not think about GR's time at City, he certainly knew how to make supporters feel like valued customers.

And if the ticket office were short of staff to answer phones, he would have been in there answering them himself.

Not sure that's true. Most posts I've seen seem to be in agreement that the price had to go up for various reasons.

    Exactly this.

Our group of 6 aren't renewing not because of the price, but purely because we're no longer enjoying what's on offer and we can't really see it getting better unless there's drastic change (i.e Sparks and/or Rupp being replaced).

They should have really capitalised on those who fit into the latter and just stuck ST prices at £400+ from the off. Those renewing won't care if it's £250 or £500, they might moan but they'll still renew.

It is a very sad read this thread. Long term fans not wanting to go watch the team. I make difference between long and short term fans because it is unusual. As normally long term fans have put up with no end of nonsense. At least two admins and several owners and even more managers.

I just feel despondent and totally fed up with the club and their lack of engagement with the fans on all sorts of levels.

I like our manager and I do think he should be allowed to stay regardless of what happens this season. The players are playing their best football and trying their best.

However, I doubt we will renew. It has become very difficult to actually park anywhere near the ground as several areas where we could park is now out of bounds. Nevertheless despite those difficulties we would make the effort and expense if we felt bonded to the club as we have done for decades. We feel ignored and taken for granted and that is not a nice feeling. At moment we have no idea what we will be asked to pay but this is not about money. We have always loved the club and turned up every match until recently. We used to go home and away. Now the experience just feels miserable. I do realise the club has to charge more due to wages and bills that require more money, but when owner will not invest in our club it is very hard to justify an increase for fans who on the whole are not millionaires. Ppl have said we can’t force him and that is correct but I do hope he looks at the downturn in income and recognises his own part in that downturn.

All ST holders should have a tattoo first season
    Dates added annually underneath
Scheme would be run by Kadima Sports Identity - Prices to be advised

Should be the club's responsibility to supply replacement cards then if their new system is not compatible!!

In all fairness I’d imagine quite a few (myself included) were totally disillusioned with how the club is being run. The appointment of Sharpe last week has gone a little way to allaying the concerns about the future trajectory of the club. Many supporters would then have made the decision to renew, some on that day, but many reluctantly (as myself) as the deadline loomed. Yes, it was last minute but as previously mentioned, why have deadline on a non working day when there was no one to answer queries. I had to drive 90 minutes to the ticket office yesterday after failing to get through. There were 5 people in the queue and 2 behind the counter. Even those behind the counter blamed the system and criticised ticketmaster for not allowing them to test the system before it went live.

Whilst I’ve always thought an increase was necessary, not sure on the timing. ‘Pay more, for a worse product’ doesn’t have much of a ring to it. We should have gone to this pricing in 2017 imo.

I've been trying to understand myself in relation to Bradford City after all these years. Do I want to go and watch them play Sutton on a Saturday afternoon? No, I don't. Do I want to go on a dank Tuesday night to watch them play Doncaster? No, again. I have to be honest with myself. I really don't want to go. So what's changed? Am I just too old to put myself through it? I think I probably am. There's also the undeniable fact that for the last few years I've just been bored witless, game after game. I just don't feel the excitement anymore, even when we've won. There's so little to be proud of. I can appreciate that there are many of my age, and indeed any age, who carry on regardless and I applaud you all for your loyalty. But to me, loyalty means so little in the modern world in almost every walk of life. It's just thrown back in your face. And, given the present circumstances at City, that's even more so. Those of us who have watched the team over so many years are really just a number on the season ticket list as far as the present management are concerned. Perhaps we always were, I don't know.
Anyway, as I've said, I'm not renewing my season ticket and won't be attending next season. This is an entirely personal decision, and I make no judgement on anyone else.
I will follow the club from a distance and wish everyone well.
And I hope I find it within myself to return in the future. We'll see.

And there's people like me who, despite using their phone for pretty much everything, still like to have a back up (Plan B) option, should the technology fail.
