Not hearing from Sharpe not the problem, fact he wasn't at the meeting to talk about players for next season which he surely should have been?

 

Who knows the reason. He's onboard and I'm sure he will be working hard somewhere, within the club

 

Maybe being part of a football meeting will help Ryan gather more football knowledge I really don't see the big deal mate, after all he is the CEO of a football club you'd expect him to have a level of football knowledge.

I didn’t say you did, someone tried to suggest he was involved in every detail of football at VP. Someone with any experience knows what “Head of XXxxx Operations” means. They set , oversee and ensure targets are met. They aren’t interested in the minutiae . Clearly you know that, others don’t. Sharpe has specialised in selling his family owned football club, Rupp says his intention is to sell. We don’t have to be rocketeers work out why he’s here. Sparks has no experience in such activity, that you know as well.

I’m advising what my experience of titles in business mean , it’s does not mean in any shape or form BCAFC are following the same titled principles. I’m sure you have more experience than I …leave it at that.

His role is almost certainly has some involvement in player recruitment and development, i.e. it's not a reach to suggest that Gent works for him. Both then work with GA in a constructive way, to bring in the players.

The job title, who attends what meeting is irrelevant.

The fact Nigel Clough spent 30 seconds of a 4 minute interview, just after they'd got promotion - praising Sharpe's part in more or less at the beginning of the interview, is far more significant that what meeting Sharpe's been at or not at.

Interestingly, Clough stated that it was the purchases they made in January last year (i.e. Davis Keillor-Dunn) that made them the team they have been this season, he said "I wish he (Sharp) was here was us" and "He was as responsible as an anybody" (for the promotion)

Why would sparks want to employ someone to help sell the club when the chances are if the club is sold sparks will lose his job

 

A belated thought. Not decrying the bloke at all, and he's clearly had experience running a football club but what does he actually bring to the football side of things. He isn’t a former player or manager and as far as I can see he doesn’t know anything more about players than you or me. If anything he's a replacement for Sparks. I thought we were looking for someone who could contribute to footballing decisions from a playing point of view and I fail to see what he can offer there. Have I missed something?
