What's the big deal with regards to not hearing from Sharpe?

 

Until it is all clarified nobody knows, but he’s not a scout or player identifier. He said it was his job to “ get them in” . That was also his role at Mansfield if you watch the Mansfield video. Cloughs brother did all the scouting / searching….Sharp did the deals.

The owners girlfriend/ wife was CEO who knew absolutely nothing about football and has a degree in politics. Apparently they are a well run club according to some?
Therein lies the conundrum?

He's still present at every meeting about footballing matters. That doesn't say to me that he's taking a back seat.

 

Let's look at job titles though Kev. Head of FOOTBALL Operations not present, (knows a bit about footy!), Chief Executive Officer present (knows nothing about footy!)....simply on that alone it doesn't make any sense. Why would the Head of FOOTBALL Operations NOT be present at a discussion about next season....

 

I’d expect the CEO to be in attendance if the “playing” budget is on the agenda…. How the budget is allocated and spent on the playing side , I wouldn’t expect the CeO to be present.

 

Titles are pretty meaningless. He’s in the club for more than the footballing side of things.

Operations managers in almost any business are key personnel in upper-level management that make sure the company is performing to its best potential. They keep their eyes on multiple areas within the company, assuring productivity and efficiency while seeking to reduce costs. They manage other key leaders within several departments and guide groups of people to complete their individual tasks in order to achieve company-wide goals.

When the playing budget is on the agenda, surely that's a meeting between just the CEO and Head of Football Operations. He then relays that information to the manager and recruitment team and they have the discussions about how that money will be spent. Absolutely no need for Sparks to be involved at that point but he appears to be the one having those conversations with GA rather than Sharpe.

 

Obtuse Kev. I know what Operations means, was middle management in a local (Halifax based) top 5 UK bank for 30 years.

How do you know he's in the club for more than footballing reasons? Evidence please? Research? You always ask for that yourself....

 

No idea what the young good looking CEO sees in her very much older extremely rich husband....

 

His job title is head of football operations though, not head of operations.
