I don’t know about all that Kev if I’m honest. I’m not into politics at all. I just think a general rubbish bin on most street corners like it used to be (particularly around the university/city centre where takeaways are rife) wouldn’t go amiss. In fact it’s one of the basics of general housekeeping in any town or city!

Hopefully! After all the grief their fans gave us after the play offs, gloating and obsessing with us even months after the new season started, it’d be extremely sweet tasting if/when the boot is on the other foot!

 

Big turning point today was Walkers excellent save from their header,if that goes in we’re 1-0 down and heads drop. Not long after we scored the winner. Fine margins but we deserved the win with the clear cut chances we created and Cook should have got a couple.

Agree completely. Some very negative comments on here re GAs team selection even before a ball was kicked. It was always going to be a slog against a very physical side battling for every point. I think GA got the tactics and selection spot on.

 

I think there were understandable questions about the line up, at home v bottom team, but i agree GA knew what sort of game it would be.
For me, whilst i dont always agree with him, i was far more impressed with his after match interview and explanations - it was encouraging to hear him sounding both grounded and upbeat, I was worried a couple of weeks back as his interviews were more downbeat and dare i say a bit muddled.

You're absolutely right.

We've got 4 centre halves, 2 full backs and a defensive midfielder playing, at home, to bottom of the league, and one of the lowest scorers.

It's definitely Cooks fault that we aren't in front. We've defended magnificently and if only we'd have snatched one of those break aways.

Yes then it would have probably been the usual home defeat we get in games like this after winning 2 in 2.

I wasn't impressed with the team GA picked when it was announced but I have to say he got it right, even playing Stubbs in midfield. Had we picked the positive lineup we all wanted against lowly Sutton it would probably ended up with the usual home defeat after winning 2 in 2.
Bearing in mind these aren't GA's signings, he is using what he has available quite well, the guy is clued up about what is required in certain games. That was what is known as winning "ugly".

 

Not sure how you can assess his performance yesterday as you didn’t go to the match, unless you watched on ifollow.
He played very well. Made the goal and put a perfect cross on to Cook's head. Shite he is not.

 

I take it you've not watched the last 2 games?

 

Well to be fair to Cook even top class strikers don’t put every chance away, see Haaland yesterday. He should have put at least one maybe two away though.

 

He is injured,had a bang on his ankle last Tuesday night. He’ll be back for the semi final though in Cooks place.

Oduor has got all the attributes to be a very good player. Morais summed it up well post match it’s up to him whether he fulfills it with his attitude and workrate
