Andy Cook (with Poll)

His attitude is awful. Of course the goals matter more but his demeanour towards his team mates has always grated on me. He is constantly sulking and chipping away at everyone.

 

Just answer the question if you can without obfuscating.

He IS hungry but not for his football

 

well we werent at the bottom end of league two last season. Morale is low, the system implemented by the manager is not getting the best out of the players, and a lot of the players look pissed off

Of course he's hungry......How do you think he's managed to put on about 5 stone in the last couple of weeks?

I'm saying nothing other than I judge him by this season alone because this is the first season i've watched him play in the flesh, so he doesn't have credit in the bank with me. Which will be why my opinions are so different to everyone elses

 

We need to evolve beyond Cook. We need more mobility and technical skill in the front line.

A front 3 of Young down the middle and 2 from 3 of Wright, Chapman and Pointon either side is what we should go with

 

Depends on your set up I guess. We know Cook will give us goals with service but he has his limitations when it comes to build up play. Personally I'd be playing to Cooks strengths.

Maybe. And with pace around him, it could work. Longer term, I'd like us to work towards having more movement and mobility at the top of the pitch.

 

I'm guessing you never saw Bobby Campbell play for City then!

 

Im sorry IG , Bobby was in a different league comparably to Cook. Different era I know , but if we take all round individual and team play into account , I don’t believe I’m wrong.

A hard call?

 

I would like to see more direct competition for his position. But not going to happen. So rest him, it worked before. He did get some delivery last night, but on a couple looked like he either could n't be arsed fighting the defender or getting too knackered (age?).

An aside, note that Oliver started on Saturday and helped them to a win with an assist.

 

I was going to make the same point! Ask Mega or anyone whose job it was to give the ball to Bob and they'll tell you they were scared of his reaction in case the cross wasn't good enough! Cook's no different. Not in Bob's league yet but his goals per game ratio is actually higher than the big man's. Would need to score near the same total number of goals for us though before we could even have that discussion though.

I just wonder if ultimately Cook is off, assuming we can find a replacement. Obviously it was hoped to be Wyke.JY seems to be the way forwards but clearly AC seems to have an issue with him. Wyke and JY up front would have been a lethal pairing. But as we are saying a lot recently, this is BCFC after all
