Looks like Andy Cooke has retired, i don't car if he scored 100 goals last reason, bench for me although it looks like it's worked out pretty well for him with his new contract. Jake Young and bobby, any decent club would be building around players like those two, when you can't compete with the likes of Barrow, Harrogate and Crawley we might as well be ground sharing with Guiseley. Were getting to be like Queens Park who played in the big arena of Hampden Park in Scotland, good luck to Stefan Rupp in getting your money back.

I’d like to see Pointon take Cooks place for the next three games. It has worked before with Andy Cook and would give Pointon a chance to show his metal.

I'm on my way back to East Yorkshire after another thoroughly depressing night at VP. I've been doing this for 40 years, variously from London, Manchester and the Midlands along the way. I'll never stop supporting the club I was born with through my dad and grandad, but damn! Don't it remain hard. I'm almost on giving up. I know I never will but hey, we\re shit. Have been for ages. Have been for ages.No idea what the answer is, but neither have Rupp, Sparks or Gent. Doesn't really matter who the ever-rotating manager/coach set up is. There is no plan, there is no clever advancement idea to throw us on into a better place. Shit show as ever

 

Cant argue with that....we wont settle for mediocrity and we shall be meaner and leaner.

Forget about Young. Even Haaland would have struggled to score in that game. Shocking service all round. Midfield non existent. Set pieces woeful. Movement and pressing was minimal. Desire to win the game just not there. I can’t see GA being able to make a turnaround from this. Huge pressure on Walker to return, but he’s just one part that’s missing.

Well there is I suppose but Walker/Pattison are out injured for god knows how long, he ignores Bobby P and wont play one of the leagues leading scorers because we might miss out on a pay day.

So basically we are fooked. And he is a shite manager to add to it.

Im on the fence with GA - he doesn’t fill me with confidence that he’s the manager to take us forward however in his defence the state of this club doesn’t solely rest on his shoulders.

What I can criticise him for is the desire of the players. Outside of Halliday and Walker (on slender occasions Gillead) who else of the regular starters can we genuinely say has shown any of that this season?

Changing the team I don’t think achieves much, but Pointon, Chapman and Macdonald need to be playing for me. If we had a replacement for Cook it would be the first change I’d make however it certainly doesn’t sound we will get that in the transfer window outside of Young staying.
