Are you suggesting Liz Truss bankrupting the entire private pension system by giving away a unfunded tax bonanza was a good idea ?

    Sorry if I misunderstand ?

If we sign Dan Kemp for any fee, disclosed or not, I'll show my bare arse on the halfway line at HT of the first home match afterwards

Decent keeper but hardly irreplaceable. There are a lot of equally good shot stoppers out there, he was better with his feet than most L2 keepers but since GA came in that’s less of a focus anyway.

Assuming we got a reasonable fee then I think it’s a fine bit of business.

Could it be a case of HL disappointed he didn’t move in the summer perhaps because we didn’t have cover and a gentleman’s agreement in place with the club if a team in a higher division bid for him he could move, something strikes me that this isn’t a surprise transfer that has just happened over night.

Agreed. If/when Young follows him out the door, and we don’t reinvest, we could be in real danger of alienating the fans. Strong end to the season needed as the new ST campaign will be March ish time? We need wins for fans to swallow the sustainability pruning of squad, cashing in of assets.

No issue with it either until you look at the braindead contracts handed out to some of these players ........... now if you sort that side then there maybe no losses ...........Derbyshire an 18 month deal who had the final say on that ????

That bonus should be pending in Sparkes account by now unless he’s getting double bubble when Young goes

Lewis situation strikes me as odd though had a better option in the summer and would love attracted more interest this coming summer he’s taken a very strange career move , they are coming back down so in reality we have strengthened a rival for next year- bonkers decisions by a basket case of a club with an idiot at the helm and an owner who doesn’t give a toss.

I’m hoping if snd when we do get new owners we get winners and football fans

Well being a Carlisle fan, I'm afraid I have to disagree with most of that.
We DO have a decent potential fan base, a City (granted a small City) but it has a population of around 120,000 (including surrounding villages) we also have most of Cumbria to pull support from, the Scots love to support an English club (although NOT the English national team), most of my mates are Scots and over the last 6months to a year there are regular trains coming down from Glasgow and Edinburgh. We had nearly 4,500 at an away game at Bolton a couple of months back and even over Xmas we had over 4,000 at Wigan along with sell outs at Fleetwood and Blackpool.
Similar to yourselves we have been poorly run over the last 20years or so. Will it last? who knows.
We'll never be as big as Bradford, agreed, but being another Brentford, Bournemouth or even a Brighton may be a strong possibility, if we can get it right on the pitch.

Yeah we've given some mind boggling contracts out in the last couple of seasons.

What we wouldn't give to have new owners like yourselves, the buzz around Valley Parade would be amazing if just for getting rid of our current owner. I sat we, i shit you not there are some who would happily see our current owner continue 'incase we might end up with one who is worse'. This after 5 years of league 2 football and more than likely at least another one next season.

But not only do they have to be worth selling in 18 months time, they need to be ready to go NOW, for a promotion push this season and available for less in January than we've just sold Lewis for.

It's been a lot more reasoned on here but Jesus Christ the melt down on Twitter today! The fact is, we can't actually know if this is good or not as:

    1. We don't know how much we got for Lewis
    2. We don't know how good his replacement is

The new guy played 30 games in the SPL last year and, by some measures was apparently statistically the third best keeper in the league. And let's face it, Lewis has been pretty ropey this year. Might turn out to be a decent bit of business in time...

Basically, the club have given up on this season.

Cashing in and building for next or saving for Rupp.

People say selling him could be good business but the fact remains a club higher wants him. Wouldn’t be fuss about this sale if I trusted Rupp and Sparks but I don’t.

The season is done that I can see but I hope I am wrong.
