What are the fees you refers ? What fee was it that Barnsley offered? What fee do we have for the “ alleged” offer from Carlisle . @donhutchinsaffro dreamed up Twitter nonsense to £100,000 to go by?

What is the absolute point of getting in a lather and then extrapolating that we are a poorly run club without not knowing one iota of any detail whatsoever only blind and utter gossip.?

Both players have either recently or in the past underperformed at our club. Let’s be honest Lewis has been error stricken on some occasions since his head was turned before Spain. He admitted it!

If we sell those players at a decent profit, we got them for FREE remember , then that’s the opposite if a poorly run club, especially as it’s clear ONE if not BOTH want a move ?

What do other clubs do in the lower divisions, refuse to sell players, let them run their contract down and go for free, meanwhile their club can’t pay the taxman. We have a bit of leeway but my point remains.

Lewis was a surprise plus for us last season.

Nobody had heard of him as he was 3rd or 4th choice at Southampton when we signed him. I think Mark Hughes vaguely remembered him from his time there.

We certainly didn't expect him to be instantly installed as number 1 here, he was and he excelled early doors and became a firm favourite with the fans.

He quickly established himself as one of the leagues top keepers second to only Vigoroux in many peoples opinion.

He bonded with the fans and community in general and comes across as a very nice man overall.

In his words, he took the playoff defeat as bad as any fan and disappeared from social media for a while.

We then had an offer from Barnsley for him in pre season,which we rejected, and this seemed to affect him mentally and in my opinion he never seems to have recovered from.

His form this season has been distinctively average. Some glaring errors that lead to goals early in the season. He did pull himself around but still not a patch on last season.

Another myth that becomes a fact

 

Thanks…We all know it’s a figment of twatter imagination, but recycling it then repeating it again and it turns into “ fact” . Nobody knows the numbers , I can quote £1m for Lewis and £2m for Young and all of a sudden it turns the club into something well run. I’m not having a pop please don’t think I am , but social media has its vices for sure.

Won’t be a better post all day. A lot of people haven’t been through those dark days where a lot of people put so much effort into saving the club. After our financial history if we go back there the powers that be will throw the book at us.
Of course the whole point of a football club is to be successfull lbut this can’t be done recklessly. A few on here think a change of regime will be a panacea but unless any new owners have money to throw away the club would be run on similar lines

“Don’t get me wrong I wouldn’t want to lose him but it’s part of the game. If a club come in with an offer that financially we can’t refuse, then we wish him all the best.

“But then I’ve got to find a replacement and that’s what I’m doing now".

I have also been through them dark days i have also been through them days when the club had to sell to survive ( Simpson era ) but at least we all knew unlike this lot who seem happy to take us for fools ............ he is not a businessman ???? Does he really think hes gonna get more than his money back without spending a thing ??????
Hes sitting there hoping that somehow our amazing sponsorship ceo and our pee poor recruitment will somehow pull out a miracle.

Again you don't get it. We aren't asking for the bloody moon on a stick, just an owner who genuinely wants to see us push this club to the next level. I'm personally not ever thinking an Arab sheikh is gonna turn up and take us to the champions League, heck I'd even be behind Rupp if I thought he had an ounce of ambition. At the moment I'd settle for an owner who just actually spoke to our new manager before we'd signed him, it really isn't a lot to ask

 

Spot on Rog, whilst there are many worse than Rupp, I would trade him in tomorrow for an owner who has daily hands on the tiller involvement and shows interest in the club. Coming to two or three matches a season is not interest.

That said, until the right person comes along, I'm happy to stick with what we have rather than get some shyster involved who is only there for the "money". Having heard an interview with the Dogs owner today, I certainly don't want to be involved in any yanks owing our club.
