Carlisle are shit. I still dont understand why the yanks invested there.

its a league up but not for long. Theyre a club going nowhere.

i guess him and Young will get higher wages for a few years.

Doesnt say much for their scouts if theyve lodged a bid. He’s been average at best this year. That mistake at Donny was very frustrating, and he’s done far worse - head’s not been right since Barnsley came in for him.

i wish both players well if they tie up their moves, but I find it thoroughly depressing they have done a double ‘Wyke’ on us - shows how badly run this club is at the top under Rupp and how we continue to fester like a mammoth turd in the bowl.

Alexander won’t see a penny of either fee - gobbled straight up by the sustainability bullshit budget. :-(

Are Carlisle the new Lincoln, poaching our players. I would have liked to keep both players and build, but we're treading water and if the money raised helps Alexander build a winning squad, then I'm all for it. The doubt creeps in when you look at the current squad and the amount we've wasted in the past. Can only hope we've learned from our mistakes and Alexander knows the market, but I won't hold my breath.

That line above is the worry I think for most. Will GA be given the budget to make a difference? If we raise a good whack, will they just wait until the summer? Will we try use it now? Will the club take a good cut incase there are lapsed ST sales to cover that shortfall?

This self sustainability model creates a lot of questions and anxiety when a sale rolls around, especially mid-season. I think it's the faith in the people employed to get it right too...... anyone else happily accept mediocrity at the club this season? Seems to have been a mess since Day 1.

More chance than us. It's not unsummountable for Carlisle but one heck of a challenge.

Before Saturday and the keeper knocking the ball in from the penalty, i do not remember a goalkeeper making a mistake against us for quite a while. Harry has made quite a few this year, more so early, when the Barnsley interest surfaced.
Certainly not the player he was last year. lack of competition not helped. Lets hope we have something lined up , if he does go. Do not really fancy Doyle in goal in a league game.

He may be having a bit of a blip but we know what he is capable of (a bit like Stubbs) and you just don't sell your best players if you've any intention of succeeding.

The most promising keeper we have owned in a long time and only just turned 26. Sure, he can no doubt be replaced by another goalie as no one is irreplaceable but this is just typical of us, short sighted.

It would have been an idea to sign a decent no 2 to keep him on his toes, he knows Doyle is zero competition for the No1 shirt.

He has ambitions to play higher than we are and we aren’t going up this season. In this case we may as well cash in whatever we can (within reason of course), cause he’ll be off for free at the end of this season if not.

I don’t want him to leave, but this is the reality of last seasons playoff defeat and this seasons disappointment so far.

I think we've a one year extension in the clubs favour, so 18 months left on his contract.
You could argue the club signed an unknown GK, who couldn't get a game in the National League and turned him into a GK worth £££,£££.
The club could argue this is great business.

He's certainly not been the same keeper this season so I can see why a decent fee is attractive at this stage. Replace him and give GA the funds to add to the squad or put it into next season's budget when Stockport & Wrexham are out of the picture.

I would have no objections to Doyle seeing out the last 20 games of the season as our keeper.

He's been solid enough in the cup games.

Forgot about the extension clause. I suppose in another 6 months his value depreciates further so if the bid is considered decent I can understand the potential to sell based on how this season has gone so far for us.

From a player POV, his form last season showed me enough that he’s a very decent L1-2 keeper, so the money has to be right or else it’s bad business from the club (unless of course the player himself wants out).

It’s painful however that Carlisle is potentially a more attractive option than us. Says a lot….

Yes, 6 months time he would be worth less than now due to the contract scenario.

Carlisle have a lot of dough after the takeover.

That been my point - for prospect new owners and players, Carlisle is a more attractive proposal.

Carlisle are on record last season commenting on how higher our budget was compared to theirs. Care to explain how selling to them catapults us to league one?

Edited: didn't realise they had been taken over. Even more depressing. Sparks n Rupp out!

Not so sure about that... He was crocked last quarter of the game and couldn't take goal kicks

All right as a reserve at best

Talking of clubs going nowhere.. how are we doing? You’d have said the same about Stevenage before Evans walked through the door.
Laughable you call Carlisle shit while they are linked to our best player after Cook last season.
