Decent support once again for a Tuesday night for what some say is a nothing competition.
Hats of to those travelling including myself.

 

If the home games are anything to go by there'll be less than half of that actually travelling.

Many buy for the points on offer in this competition. There were no more than 300-350 in the main stand in the second to last home match (watched on iFollow) and the attendance was labelled as 1,700.

 

I think there is some interest in this game because many fans won’t ever have been to Pride Park but I do agree with you that because tickets are cheap, some fans think it’s worth buying for the points with no intention of attending.

 

That's exactly the reason I am going. Done the Baseball Ground many times, boy what a tough place that was to visit.

I'm not one bit bothered about loyalty points but am of visiting the new Derby ground

 

Are we not in a cost of living crises, yet you are suggesting people will pay for something and then not use it.

It definitely happens, I know people personally who do it.

A bit sad IMO, for the sake of potentially not missing out on trips to dumps like Harrogate, Salford or a league 2 play off semi.

 

When I originally posted the thought of purchasing a match ticket and not attending never crossed my mind but there's always something you learn on here.
Regardless of said actions I still think there will be a good turn out for this game even with the early kick off time 7-00pm which unfortunately might stop a few from travelling due to work commitments.

 

Yes, it happens every week. At least 5000 season ticket holders don’t turn up and they’ve already paid. So they’re paying for something and not using it.

 

Yes, and a match ticket is on average £9 (rounded up a couple dozen pence), so it's not much different to those buying cup tickets for a tenner and collecting the points without attending.

 

And furthermore, I’m privileged enough to be able to spend a tenner in Lieu of putting food on table.
However, on this occasion I am going to the game.
I didn’t go to Grimsby though or Burton last season but bought tickets

Ain't I aware, though I thought pride park opened late 90s (after my uni days).....I've done 83 grounds across this country from Exeter to Newcastle and I want to do some of the new grounds to enrich my travels ..

Derby was always a tasty away day...even when I lived in Nottingham and took a few games in!!

 

In the articles I've seen about tickets it doesn't mention an additional 20 points being added to your account for this game, compared to Colchester where it does. Anyone confirm?

 

Yes, I'm one of those because I live 180 miles away but buy a season ticket to support the club.
