Oh the irony.

 

You're wasting your time Idle.

 

You're making it sound as if this whole current movement is normal members of the public wanting an end to innocent deaths.

Do you seriously think the same people who are stopping the traffic on BD3 Leeds Road every evening, the same people who are letting rats into restaurants, vandalising property, spraying graffiti everywhere, causing every Jewish person in this country to be in fear, would give one iota of effort into protesting so passionately against non-muslim death?

The answer is no. Work the rest out.

 

Of course not. But those people you describe are a small minority of those who want an end to the killings on both sides and peace and security for innocent Palestinian and Israeli civilians.

 

You're in the minority if that's what you choose to believe.

 

I’m certainly in the minority on here but, as I explained in a post a couple of pages back (quoted below) this forum is not remotely representative of British society as a whole. People like you think that the whole country thinks like you do which, thankfully, is not true.

 

Says the man who thinks that Russia was justified to invade the sovereign state of Ukraine, kill its citizens and flatten its infrastructure. I’ll take no lectures on minority views from you, thank you very much.

 

As a Jewish person myself I'm not going to argue with much of that.

I can agree with some of this, mainly the bottom paragraphs. Israel could have chosen to take a different route to the killing of well over a thousand of their own people, the biggest slaughter of Jewish people since World War 2. Possibly a more diplomatic line. But, in the real world, when you stick your arm in the cage and provoke the lion by killing its cubs, don't go crying to mummy and daddy when it rips your arms off. Make no mistake, whether people agree with the reaction from Israel, and most people don't like to see innocent people being killed, Hamas and no one else caused this reaction. Because any sign of kindness, such as a ceasefire, in seen as an act of weakness by these kind of organisations.

 

This article, written by a Jewish woman, will be far too balanced, impartial and tolerant for those on here who want to blame one community or another, or who will dismiss/not bother to read it because it’s in the Guardian. But for those with more open minds it’s well worth it for an insight into the historic complexities of the Israel/Palestine situation:

Remember, against the backdrop of centuries of religious and geographical conflict, and mass death, rape, torture and kidnap, the most important point that needs to land with people is that women can have c**ks. The mentality astounds me. Society is eating itself.

 

I do wonder where society is going. In a way i'm glad i lived through the decades i did, maybe i'm more cynical in my old age. In a way i'm glad i spend a lot of my time walking and enjoying nature these days, keeps me at arms length from the nutjobs and freaks of this world. I actually don't like getting involved in political debates but they sometimes drag you in, same thing goes with social media. Because without the above, i can still appreciate what a wonderful country this place can be, good people, amazing places to visit. Where i don't have to watch folks killing each other over some mythical sky cloud god or be told thats its normal that women can have c**ks too lol.

 

Come on you're better than that. I'm expressing what is called empathy and putting myself in the shoes of the average Gazan. Do I have to put myself in the shoes of the average Israeli settlers because it makes you feel better?

 

Not all heroes wear capes, well done.

 

Being pragmatic I find it's BS to go back hundreds or thousands of years to try and justify your take on the situation..

The lack of media coverage over what happened on 7th October is criminal, and very, very telling over who controls the media narrative.

Israel providing incubators for the evacuation of babies from hospitals and announcing pauses and directions for humanitarian aid. Hamas storing weapons and captives under hospitals.

 

A tactic that has been done for centuries. To be honest its not something that particularly bothers me as much as war itself, if you do end up in a war you do what you have to do to give you any advantage over your enemy. This idea of some moral semblance of fair play when all around you losing limbs to mines or being blown up with mortar shells seems kinda irrelevant.
