Goals once again looks like it’s going to be the issue. We’ve played well in spells but look a-bit toothless.

 

Hull the better side but a good work out and just what we needed

 

Luckily we won't be playing in the Championship

 

I think we need to remember....

A) this isnt a full strength side. Its a mix in both halves
B) the opposition are an established Championship side.

Stand out players for us in that game

why does osadebe always play like zidane in preseason?

 

Coming back from the injury he had he was never going to look the same player during the back end of last season. I’m really pleased he’s showing what he’s about so far this preseason.

 

Agreed some were very harsh at the end of last season, it’s like some think it’s a computer game where players don’t get affected by injuries and just come back the same.

 

It doesn’t change the fact that he was rubbish towards the end of the season. Shockingly bad

 

Usual moaning, grumbling squad have gathered I see.
Personally I thought that was hugely encouraging, our passing and ball control was far better than last season even though it's early pre_season.
We were well on top and they scored against the run of play. Highly satisfied with that and our options for change against a side 2 leagues above us. Can't read too much into pre-season, win or lose but like I say very encouraged by that.

 

One thing about these pre-season matches - its still pretty hard to work out who Hughes thinks is his best eleven.

Maybe we'll get more clues in the next match.

 

I worry about some of our so called fans when I see comments like below, the guy had two bad breaks I'd suggest the first few games were all about getting through mentally, unbelievable Jeff as Kammy would say.

 

Don't agree. Oyegoke was guilty of some shocking passing and errors in the first half. Pointon once again impressed me though.

Bobby Pointon got us going again when he came on.

 

Can you honestly say hand on heart that what you saw today was better than last season ?
The faffing at the back.
The slow build ups.
The first option to look for a backwards pass.
Playing 1 up front. Cook looked slow and lazy.
Poor quality in wide positions.

I hope it improves but unless we bring in better wide players and move the ball quicker going forwards then I’m sorry to say it’ll be very similar to last season. We might make the playoffs but we won’t be challenging for the autos.

 

He goes back to school work for two months and then football starts again. A lonely existence.
