    What I highlighted was that having a DOF is not necessarily a panacea for all ills. It is not that simplistic.

    Stephen Gent is the Head of Recruitment at City.

    Apart from the title, what is the actual difference in the role of the Head of Recruitment and a Director of Football?

    Perhaps @bantamlad92@bantamlad92 can set it out?

    There is no way on this earth I would welcome that odious individual back into our club

    This is the same guy who was the Chief Exec of the Football League, and amongst other daft schemes, is solely responsible for effectively killing the Football league trophy by introducing B teams into it

    Did he kill it? Its a shite comp and was before the b teams - but 79,000 fans at Wembley a few weeks ago says to me it is anything but dead.

    That's like saying I don't mind paying £35 for a take away curry because I'd pay it for a 3 course meal and a bottle of wine at the local pub.

    Attendances of group games dwindled dramatically when Harvey introduced the Prem & Championship teams. This should have been purely for the L1 & L2 teams to contest, until he stuck his oar in. Many owners of lower league clubs have come out since (I believe Mark Lawn may even have been one of them??) and said clubs operate on a loss hosting the group games, whether home or away, and don't break even until the semi-final or final stages
    Also, no matter how much someone hates/disagrees/boycotts the competition, very few would turn down a Wembley final
